I have been a resident in the area for 6 years and have been going to LeMan's for all of my oil changes, etc. I see them every morning when I go to work, which makes me even angrier that I was cheated out of $1,000+ in repairs.
With only 60,000 miles on my car, problems started within this past year. (I'm not familiar with cars) It seems like every time I got my oil changed (in between changing it upstate periodically), the light kept turning on, then the brakes started having grinding noises (the mechanic would show me old car parts to try to "demonstrate" the damage). Paid $400 for a probably unnecessary brake change (had brakes changed a few years ago), but since I trusted them and the noise was really bad, I agreed to it.
After the storms this past winter, my car was not turning on (now find out, that it could have been water in the gas tank, easily cured with a bottle of dry gas).
The mechanic held onto the car for TWO months. I have come to find out that they were intentionally damaging my car, to get repairs.
Between my hectic schedule, I kept calling them & was not able to stop by during business hours. The owner, Mike, avoided my calls, or had his assistant cover for him (one time I think he even handed the phone over to his assistant), or said that he didn't have time to look at it yet, he was too busy with repairs that day.
At first it was the computer, waited 2 weeks for them to "find a signal or new one," then it just needed a tune-up, didn't start, then the distributor cap, paid $120, for that. Car didn't start. Strangely when they came to help, the started spraying the ignition switch- no where near the distributor. Then they said that they thought it was the whole Distributor, but that it was in an awkward spot and they didn't want to go in and work on it if it wasn't that. Basically they would not work on it, while each day I was hoping the car would turn on in time for street cleaning.
After the 2nd time of arguing for my car, they returned the car to me without it being able to turn on and with a HUGE chunk of paint missing from the front bumper. Painted light pink to cover up (not even matching the maroon color).
After having 2 other places look at it. The last being upstate, it turns out that SOMEONE had intentionally broken the Distributor. 1 spring was missing, a screw, and the hole attaching the screw was broken. It didn't look like something that was damaged just by going in to try to fix it. It is a $800-$1,000 job, and now I am trying to sell a 12 year old car with 60,000 miles on it that won't turn on because of what the mechanic did.

I also failed to mention that after the 1st month that Mike had not worked on my car & I argued with them. When I got the car back I noticed a small amount of fluid was coming up from the right front floor of my car. The bottom of my purse was soaked from the floor.
This was not a leak from the window or edges, I checked carefully twice. This tiny leak has subsequently turned into a wet mess when the car is running. All of the carpet is soaked, changed totally in color- I'm thinking this is can be dangerous.
My family's mechanic upstate found that the car was intentionally damaged to have this water or fluid leaking into the floor car. Such Shady, horrible horrible mechanics. read more
