I work for the FDNY Mike takes care of me when I need my inspection on all my vehicles

STAY AWAY!! This is a modern day chop shop! Nobody including owner has no idea what they are doing !!! No communication ! No respect! I'll rather take it to a dealership and pay premium price. Receive your car back with a dirty stains !! Never again!! CHOP SHOP read more

Ultimate Auto is one of the top mechanics in Queens, possibly the world. Great mechanics, great value and more than accommodating to their customers. I recommend the team at Ultimate to everyone. read more

Great value for money. My car broke down and this was the closest shop i could get it to and I'm so glad i ended up here. I will definitely be back for all my future maintenances. Ended up paying a very fair price and the mechanic was very nice. Thank you! read more

I'm so glad I found Ultimate. Like other comments, Mike is exceptionally friendly, thorough, and effective. I've been trusting my car to him for 6 years and have never been disappointed. This is a great find. My car is one thing I don't need to worry about, in many ways thanks to Mike. read more

Honest repair shop. Mike is a good dude. I've been going here for 5-6 years and every time I am amazed at their service. The turn around is usually fast (minus recent Covid, but that's to be expected) and I have not had to come back for this shop to fix something they did. The owner Mike is a good dude, I know I said this, but I really like him. If it's too expensive to use him, he always refers to another guy who can do it cheaper (maybe Mike doesn't have the tools or something). I have never had a problem. Also, I never really ask for a quote - which is on me, but I am always pleasantly surprised that what I think the repair will cost is always higher than the actual cost. Look, I don't trust shops (long history of bad ones) but I really like this one and it's one I trust. read more

I have been going to Mike for more than 10 years for everything, from annual inspections to breaks to tires to batteries. He is one of the few honest mechanics in the City, great and timely service. A year ago, I had to take my car to the dealership for something minor that only they could correct. While there, they suggested I needed a few other things fixed, for a total of over $2,000. I said no. I took the car to Mike and asked him about it. He said I only needed one minor adjustment which cost me less than $100. read more

Three Audis, three bimmers, two Benzes and a VW later I can say that Mike and Ultimate Auto Care on 22st St are simply the best. I've referred many people to to Mike and I've been profusely thanked each time for doing it. I've been going to Mike since 1989 and I'll continue to go for all non-warranty items. The minute my warranty expires I'm back to visiting Mike for ALL issues. They know all cars well but they specialize in European makes. They offer simply the best and most knowledgable service for a very fair price. Only go here if you are serious about maintaining your car to manufacturer spec. This is NOT the place for you if you want to cut corners. read more

I'd give Mike 1,000 stars if I could. When I leave the city I'll miss the hustle, the culture, the food, and most importantly- I'll miss Mike... Mike is forever a straight shooter. His prices are fair and his work is exemplary. He's the best mechanic in the city. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Mike is the best! Truly an honest mechanic! I was told by another mechanic that my front axle needed to be replaced and he was going to charge me a hefty amount. I wanted to compare quotes and ended up going to Mike. When I met him he was very professional and answered all my questions. After a few hours after dropping my car off, he calls me back to tell me that the front axle was completely fine and that I didn't need to get it replaced. When I arrived, Mike was very thorough and explained and showed me why there wasn't anything wrong with my axle. I will be going back to Mike so long as I am still in NYC and will be recommending him to all my friends and family! read more

Mike is great. He NEVER over charges. He's one of the few honest mechanics left. Very polite man.

Very trust worthy guy and shop . I've been searching for a good and fair mechanic forever . Thank god I found this shop.

An honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold. I'm just glad Mike isn't fat and he doesn't charge an arm and a leg. As a side note, not only is Mike a great mechanic the man never has a bad hair day. Ever. So if you worry about getting ripped off, relax bring your car to Ultimate and tell them Big Al sent you. read more

I was using General Auto Repairs across the street for my entire adult life (almost 25 years), then George at that shop retired. Now I lost my go to guy! So my Dad told me about Mike the mechanic which is directly across the street for George's old shop. I tried him out and first thing I noticed was how likable Mike is and how honest and friendly he is. Mike and his guys really know what they're doing! I had work done on 3 different cars and everyone the problem was diagnosed, repaired and STAYED repaired once I left! His prices are very reasonable as well! If there was one thing I have to admit that annoys me is they are ALWAYS busy! So it's hard to get those in and out jobs, but that's what you get when you're the best! Mike works with you to get you taken care of best he can and that's all I can ask for. Great shop all around! read more

This is my first ever Yelp review and I signed up just to be able to recognize Michael since I was incredibly impressed with him and his body shop. He's not only a very knowledgeable and super honest mechanic, but also a SUPER nice guy and he genuinely cares about his customers. I came to Michael after having a few bad experiences at other repair shops so I naturally nervous. However, Michael's warm and welcoming demeanor and his ability to give an honest and accurate diagnosis won me over. He won't nickel and dime you at all and his prices are extremely reasonable. He cares more about fixing your car and pleasing the customer than about the money, which is rare and amazing!! I've had a car for 15 years and this is the first time I can honestly say I had a pleasant auto mechanic experience. Give him a shot, you will happy you did!! :) read more

1000 stars! Mike is the best mechanic in New York and he is the only one I'll trust my Audi A8 and Toyota Land cruiser to. He is very far from my home but no one can give me the quality work like he does. He is fair and honest and cares about the people he serves. The woman who runs the office is fantastic too and very knowledgeable. Mike and his team should be very proud of this incredible business they've built. I once tried to work with someone in Brooklyn near my home and was quoted $2000. I took it to mike and got the job done for $350. There's no funny business going on here, just honest good work. read more

One of the last gas station-full service shops in NYC. Good service, no rip-off upsells. I do most of my own work on my car, but in the rare occasion I can't, I trust this shop. read more

I took my old Honda there a while back to check a clicking sound. Mike identified the problem and did some light welding work to squeeze a little more life out of an old muffler. He didn't charge me. There's a reason why he's always busy! read more

I have a relatively customized Audi and I still bring it to Mike and staff for all maintenance. He is the only mechanic I would trust with my car and I would recommend him to anyone with a Audi VW Porsche and any other German / Foreign car. He is reasonable with prices and won't try to sell you stuff you won't need. like the previous poster. MIke is one of the last trustworthy and honest mechanics in Astoria / long island city. 100% I recommend read more

This has been my favorite car repair shop for the last 2 years, even for complex car like Range Rover!

Mike has magic hands. We bring all the family cars here, and he takes such good care of them.

I have no idea how long Makis (Mike) has been taking care of my cars but no matter how much I abuse them then come back happy after what ever service is performed. The entire staff is great and are kind to all. Foreign or domestic this is the place to come for auto repair. He is extremely busy because he is that good. read more

Mike and staff are great! Possibly the last trust worthy car mechanic left.

Great service!! I came in because my turn signals stopped working, and within an hour it was fixed and good to go. They even bought me a soda while I was waiting! (it was 96 degrees out). Would highly recommend. read more
