Since it was our final night in Cannes and in France in general, me and my friend decided to go all…read moreout for our last meal. We got the full course meal for £28 and a bottle of pretty good Rosé for £22 to share. Both the food and the service were great. They were very nice in helping us choose to eat something since we speak little French. If we ever come back to Cannes (next two years maybe) we will be coming back here to try their other food.

We went back a second time in one day, tried new dishes, and was just as happy. And hats off to the owner who literally was the only waiter in the packed little restaurant and was serving the wine, making the espressos, bussing tables, taking orders, making desserts, speaking to each table a bit, having a wonderful attitude, and doing it all in good timing to all the satisfied customers. The chef himself even pitched in with helping serve, totally in sync with the owner. These two amazing guys totally changed my and my wife's perspective about how other restaurants are run - especially when tipping here is more of a courtesy and in the states many restaurants just add 18% on to your bill for gratuity regardless of the service you got. I left the owner just 10 euros and he was so thankful and graciously declined but promised he'd give it to the kitchen staff when we insisted that we just had to appreciate them with a tip. Unreal, awesome, classy, can't wait to return.

After having stayed in St. Raphaël for four days and not been able to find a decent place for…read moredinner we thought that Les Mérou Ardent was a great choice because of many good reviews on yelp. Unfortunately this was absolute not the case. We ordered two mid prized menus at 26 EUR each. As a starter we had fish soup and oysters, accordingly. The oysters were well prepared and presented. The fish soup tasted like fish fond that has been kept in a box for years. The fish taste was so intense that it became uneatable. A brown color supported the taste perfectly. As main dish we both had sea bass with bacon served with squid polanta and mayonnaise. A really weird combination which did not work out in real life either. Instead of focusing on the sea bass which one would expect being at a fish restaurant, the mayonnaise (!) and polanta filled up the most of the plate. The fish was dry and "poisoned" by the bacon that was wrapped around it. Both my partner and I were not able to finish this bizarre dish. For desert I had ice cream (time to go safe) and my partner had chocolate mousse. The mousse was actually quite good. It's really rare that we are not able to eat up when we go out but the fish soup and the main dish were so bad tasting that it was our only option. The only reason why we're not giving only one star is because of the nice presentation of the oysters and a good chocolate mousse for desert.

Amazing and Michelin rated 2017. Chefs prix fix was well prepared and delicious. The service was…read moredelightful. Mercí
