I had the beef "gro sel" which I saw the lady at the next table eat, and it looked good. My husband had the bibalakas with smoked trout, which was good, but not quite what he was hoping for (we didn't really know what to expect). The kids had sausage and spatzel/french fries. I liked my food. Just the right portion and taste for me. Dessert was good as well. I had the black forest cake, and my husband had the pie of the day, which was a crumble raspberry pie. Overall, a solid family friendly restaurant in old town Colmar.

We started with a couple of spritzes and a big bottle of tap water. We ordered a few main courses to share -- the winemaker "salad," which was too much meat and cheese with very little lettuce; the goat cheese and honey flambee, which was decent but we had a better one earlier in the day down the road and the original bibalakas, which were our favorite item. It was a good meal but not one of our favorites. Maybe we didn't order the right things.

The wife´s steak and my bacon burger (there wasn´t any bacon on it - I think they goofed) were mediocre at best and we were both hungry. We knew it was a chain restaurant but we falsely had our hopes set too high thinking we are France, the food has to be good... the fries weren´t even good. Recommend that you pass this place on by and head for greener pastures elsewhere.
