Then a main dish of a local fish, John Dory. Very delicate and flavorful. Lovely sauce with more herbs and additional vegies and clams of different varieties. Chevre Cheese plate came in a crisp pastry wrap, warm and a perfect spread on toast that also accompanied it. It appeared that there was a date inside as well, and that added much too the flavors in this cheese dish The dessert was a hot chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. A great dish to top off a great meal.

I would go back any time if only just to get myself some ice cream.

The…read morevenue is deserving of a great kitchen, but unfortunately the food was bland, unadventurous, and lukewarm in my case. And when I say lukewarm, about 40c, for a dish (cod) that should have been served at 50-55c. On reporting the temperature issue out to the serving staff they seemed to pay attention, but returned with the same plate of food *reheated* a few minutes later. This had the effect of a scalding plate, which caused the sauce to separate. That the dish simply would not have been replaced entirely is astonishing, and inexcusable. Later the the server offered to prepare a new dish, but I opted to have it removed from the bill. It was not. The cheese was excellent though, and my daughter reported that the fries were good too. That's not hard though, is it?

Great restaurant in scenic Doelan Le Rive Gauche is located in the center of Doelan, overlooking the harbor. There is a nice dining room and a very scenic terrace across the street with a pleasant view of the harbor. The current owners bought the place 3 years ago. The food is quite good with fresh local products and some bold innovations (beet ice cream). There were 4 of us for lunch; we sat outside. The meal was excellent. After cocktails (the americano is good0, two of us ordered croustillant de chevre (goat cheese roasted with lettuce and honey and bacon), the other 2, local (Merrien) oysters served on the half shell. These were followed with the special of the day, cod or pollack filets served with a delicate sauce and vegetables and lightly spiced monkfish with rice and vegetables. We finished with kouign amman, a local pastry made with butter, more butter and sugar. We had a bottle of Riesling. The total check for 4 people came out to 210 Euros, reasonable in light of the quality of the meal and the location. Service was also good. The owner seems very engaged. The season has now started; they are open every day except Wednesday. We will go back.

It's very cozy and full of charm. The food is excellent, with loads of fresh fish and shellfish selections from the fishing boats that go out daily. Apparently they make world class Mojito's as well, because there was a big selection of flavors. I opted for the cidre breton (when in Rome). I ordered the crêpe Seguin avec chèvre, jambon cru, tomate et oignon. It was fulfilling, moist and had a slight crunch to the crêpe du blê noire. I was totally happy with the €8 price, considering the location and scenery, they could have easily gouged a tourist at €12. Bravo! My only request would be that the filling would be spread evenly in the crepe. I found most of the procuitto, goat cheese and tomato in the center. Oh and an added garnish of pesto on top was a nice surprise! The service is what you can expect while in Brittany, pretty much non-existent but with a smile. With that said, if you even glance in the direction of your server they will attend to you toute suit! There's indoor and outdoor seating with large beach umbrellas to offer shade. Oh and there's plenty of parking á côté de la plage, so bring the family or vos amis and enjoy this little gem.
