Sept was one of the best restaurants I dined at Toulouse and in France for that matter. It was what you want in an upscale French restaurant but which you don't often find. It is relatively expensive but every meal I had there was memorable. The atmosphere is relaxed for a French establishment. The menu is limited to a few quality offerings which is always a good omen. I am always suspicious when a menu is too elaborate as it is hard to do a really good job on any particular item if you have too many to start with. The service is reasonably welcoming which can sometimes not be the case. I notice that they have a suggested wine pairing which is something I like as I believe that the chef is invariably the best judge of which wines pair best with his or her dishes. Although it can be a cliche, this was the first place I had molten chocolate cake. The location is near the historic Basilique Saint-Sernin which is a must see. Reservations for Sept are highly recommended. I believe that you will enjoy your meal.

We came here on a nice Sunday afternoon to have brunch outside. We had to wait quite a while (in…read moretypical French fashion where meals are leisurely taken and the service is a bit on the slower side) for a table and then to be served, so just prepare yourself for a 2 hour lunch and enjoy a leisurely meal. On Sundays they serve brunch from 11 am - 4 pm, which is nice if you want a later brunch/lunch - they have a brunch menu that is 18€, and then they have the regular lunch menu - one plate is 19€, the entree + plat or the plat + dessert is 24€, and if you get all 3 courses it's 29€. The regular food is a bit on the expensive side, but the portions are quite large and it was delicious. They have 2 choices for the entree, 3 choices for the plat, and 3-4 choices for the dessert. For the brunch, it's a fixed menu. For the brunch, it comes with orange juice, a hot beverage (coffee, tea), a huge croissant, 2 things that seemed like American pancakes but not very sweet and it seemed like it had a lot of eggs in it, a tartine that had caramelized onions and sun-dried tomatoes, eggs with lardons which were delicious, and a madeline in a muffin form that had a piece of chocolate in the bottom of it. The madeline/muffin was our favorite thing out of the whole spread, followed by the eggs. It was carb-heavy but it was nice to have a variety of things to eat. The salad gourmande had duck and foie gras on toast, and it was quite good, but the highlight from the entire meal was the duck confit. The meat was tender and fell right off the bone, and the skin was perfectly crispy. The potatoes and vegetables were also cooked in the duck fat / sauce and were really tasty. By the time the duck confit came out, we were pretty much full but ate all of this dish, it was one of the best duck dishes that I've had in France. Granted, I haven't eaten a lot of duck confit dishes in my life, but I would definitely return here for this. If you're looking for a long, leisurely meal outside in Toulouse on a weekend, this place would be a good choice. The brunch to me was okay (the muffin and the eggs were the best part of it), but the duck confit here was great. I'd come back for this. 3.5 stars for this place!

Here I was warmly greeted with a kiss on both cheeks by one of the owners. We sat outside and had the best meal of our trip to France. I had the gizzards salad which was surprisingly tender and tasty. The piece de resistance was the main entree of foie gras topped mignon with a side of scalloped potatoes which are a must try. The dessert was a chocolate mousse surrounded in a lovely glaze with fresh whipped cream. This place found its niche in catering to foreign visitors by perfecting each dish in its limited menu. Highly recommend!

I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to eat here, but it's a good option if you're in the area. They have their menu du jour, with 2 choices for entree, 2-3 choices for the plat, and 3 choices for dessert usually. I think you can also get a sandwich and salad option as well. All their stuff is homemade and is pretty fresh & seasonal. They had 2 choices for the tarte salée (carrot & cumin, spinach & goat cheese) which comes with a salad. I got the carrot & cumin tarte and it was good. My husband got the plat du jour which was a pasta with cream sauce, peas, and sausage and it was also good. The portions are pretty decent and the prices are reasonable too. I think it was around 14-15€ for the 3 courses (entree, plat, dessert), and 12 or 13€ for the tarte, salade, and dessert. My husband got the veloute de choufleur for his entree and this was just okay - it had too much cream in it and not enough cauliflower taste. I wouldn't get this particular soup again. The dessert was good - we got a chocolate cake which was a large, generous slice, and tasted fresh and homemade. The total for both of us was 27-28€, which wasn't too bad for lunch for 2. If you're looking for a relatively quick place for a casual lunch, this is a good place to come if you're in the area.

We opted for the 4 course menu, started with a dish of beet puree with quinoa salad and fresh cheese, then had a butternut squash dish with a spelt risotto and egg (could have used more salt), duck breast with cauliflower, and a sable with apples for dessert. With the exception of our second course which really would have popped with a bit more salt, everything else was nearly perfect. The dishes themselves are beautiful and colorful and well-balanced.
