The pizza itself (we got the 7 mushroom) tasted really good The cons: it's a 10" pizza that seemed even smaller in a big box. It wasn't cut. And it cost $30. Not worth that. And they had other cheeses you could add which raised the price by another $20. Didn't stay in to eat, but the place looked nice. I won't be going back.

Started with lattes, mine was a dirty chai (chai with a shot of espresso). Never had that before, interesting combo, but not for purists :) We each had the crèpes salées, savoury crepes filled with asparagus, cheese and ham, with hollandaise. Oh the ham was so good, big pieces and wonderfully textured. We each added a poached egg, because why not. Potatoes and a small fruit cup also on the plate. A maple butter for the fruit was absolutely amazing, but no way to eat all of it and I felt bad for the wastage of something so delicious. Would return yo try a grilled cheese sandwich, of which there are so many to choose from and seemed a hot item coming out of the kitchen. Service had zero flaws and was quick and efficient. About $30 each on the bill with tip, a very satisfying experience.

Probably one of the worse experience I ever had. First thing, don't expect authentic italian food…read more This place is as far from it as Montreal is from italy. The specialty of the chef (as per the waitress) is veal parmagiana, which is something that doesn't even exist in italy. That should have been a sign to get out of there... But we stayed. For food, we had the fried calamari , which came with a red sauce. Then my girlfriend had pasta a la vongole and I had pasta scalenta (not 100% sure of the name). The calamari by itself was good but the sauce was disgusting. Think tomato sauce with Tabasco. It was not good. The pasta a la vongole was not good either. The sauce (which was a roses sauce). Did not taste good. My pasta was good but it was soon hard to digest I regretted taking it. In addition to the food being not good the service was really bad. It was slow and bad. To get our entree, it took over 30 minutes. Then add that we were not even asked if we wanted coffee or desert. They brought us the bill after picking up the plates of our maindish. And let's not forget one of the waitress that kept kicking my girlfriends chair all night long when there was a lot of place to pass next to it. All in all a pretty bad experience.

Fondissimo is attached to another resto called le shop you just gotta go to the left and behind and you'll see a projected image of the name on the wall, hard to miss. We were greeted by a tall male hostess who gave us a great seat by the window with loads of candles ( my fav ) We of course got the cheese fondue and Chinese fondue because that's the way to go. Unfortunately the cheese fondue wasn't very good, tasted like an iga store bought one. We got traditional so if I were to come back I would skip the cheese entirely or try something else that didn't taste so generic. It is BYOW so I wasn't expecting the cheese to be grade a like in Paris. Chinese fondue was great, we went with the marinated pork and beef slices. Pork takes a while to cook so that's a bit annoying but the beef cooked within seconds. If you're feeling more adventurous you can get all the fun meats, kangaroo, camel and etc. We didn't talk and appetizers as nothing really jumped out at us. But we decided that dessert to go was a must. We chose the cheese cake which was a really good home made cream cheese, with a crumble crust which was perfect. The restaurant and service was great but at the end their was a mix up with the tip so they emailed us right away because the tip was more then our meal. That was very nice of them and just for that reason only they get 4 stars. 5 stars if they get a real cheese fondue :)

The server said it was tempura batter. It really wasn't tempura but it was tasty none the less. We split the 10 oz smoked meat sandwich platter ($15) which came with fries, cole slaw in a vinaigrette and dill pickle. The meat was hand cut and delicious! Nicely flavoured and pretty lean. Rye bread was fresh. They added yellow mustard instead of letting us do it ourselves. (My partner is not a fan.) We also split an entré sized Caesar salad. ($7) Romain could have been a little smaller. Croutons were fresh. Cheese was lovely. Real bacon bits. Presentation was very nice. Friendly atmosphere. Obviously full of locals. Very clean and bright. Recently renovated. Kitschy tavern style chairs and tables. Menu is limited. Smoked meat, spaghetti, nachos, poutine, pizza (all come with smoked meat on top) and wings. For this type of restaurant it was ideal. Another note about the service, I mentioned above that we split the smoked meat platter; it was served split into two baskets without being asked.
