It was delicious !! Excellent service !! They only have the menu in French; and know waiters took the time to explain it in English.

Still 5 stars!!!!

You get a huge portion of tasty Haitian food at a good price. The only thing I find and only because I am being picky for the review is that I find the "sauce poule" a tad salty but other than that it's perfection for me

Greeting coming in was cold with already a few people already waiting for their food and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Anyways, it's lunchtime and I wanted my Griot! TAKE MY MONEY AND GIVE ME MY FOOD. Their lunch special comes in a combo but I wanted to upgrade to a Fruit Champagne drink and apparently that's not a thing? Uh huh. I just went with the plate. Less money for you I guess. Griot plate consists of Griot (fried pork), Riz Collee (haitian styled rice), fried plantain and a small (very!) gravy sauce and picklies (spicy sauce). Griot was good albeit a smaller than ideal portion. Lunch special. Riz collee was just OK, lacked seasoning and a bit dry? How? It's lunch time. Plantain was undercooked (raw inside). The gravy sauce was also small (smallest I ever had and I had my fair share of this plate). Picklies was perfectly fine. Pricing is about average. There was way more rice than griot as per the norm I've experienced elsewhere. Gravy sauce was too small. Plantain was a miss for me. Overall the value is a little low for me and the competition really does it better. I'd come back in a bind and give them a second chance but I'd rather drive a little further to get the good stuff.

We wanted to make sure we experienced the best food this city had to offer and after doing an extensive social media search, I found this small, off-the-beaten path eatery in the St. Henri neighborhood of Montreal. What a great choice!! We arrived right on time for our 7pm reservation and the place was already packed. We were immediately seated and took in the electric vibe, bangin' music and cool-ass artwork. The smells emanating from the kitchen had us ready to pig out...and that we did! Everything on the menu looked so good we had trouble deciding what to order, but we finally ordered the plantain chips, mango wings, slow-cooked goat, fried shrimp and black rice. We tore all that food up and got an extra order of the shrimp. Our servers were friendly and funny and got a chance to meet the owner the owner and he even bought us a round of shots! He told us he was opening a bigger place later this summer! Wish I could go back for that! Pikliz was definitely the food highlight of our trip and we can't stop talking about it. If I ever go back to Montreal, I'm running to Pikliz!
