After being asked not to order too many different items (in a party of six) from a menu that is tiny, we were all served pasta dishes with sauces that I believe were canned. I have had this exact fungi (mushroom) sauce (edible I guess) before in other restaurants and it's not possible that indistinguishable sauces could come from different kitchens. Three people in our party ordered the pici cacio e pepe, which came with a generic cream sauce, which is not cacio e pepe at all. It's not a difficult dish to make and this is the part of Tuscany where it comes from. Long ago, an Italian friend of ours stormed into a kitchen in Tuscany and found a bunch of labeled canned pasta sauces. Whether canned or not, these sauces are anything but fresh and this restaurant should be embarrassed to serve a party of mostly locals food that's barely a step up from a school cafeteria. read more
