What an experience!…read more Immersive and transportive. Felt like I was back in time, in a world of fantasy. I didn't quite understand all of what was said and was hoping there would be some English in there too, but for the most part, the energy of the crowd, the singing and theatrics, was so contagious that the language barrier often became an afterthought. The food was generous, hearty and so more ish. Nothing to fault here. My partner and I shared two tasting platters in which we sampled their Pork Ribs, Viking's Quenelle, Game Pie and Boar Sausage. All excellent and how can I forget their fries! These were the underdogs. They let us get a mix of the their three kinds - spicy wedges, cinnamon sugar chips, and salted fries - all of which were scrumptious. My favorite was the spicy kind which was painfully delicious. We ended with a molten chocolate dessert which came with the best concoction of cranberries and Grand Marnier on the side, which created depths I didn't know existed. The molten chocolate itself was okay. Besides the service being rather relaxed with things often taking longer to arrive than preferred, this is worth a visit for everyone visiting Montreal. As for locals, run. Don't walk!

I REPEAT, THIS COMEDY CLUB IS IN THE MALL! walk into the mall and its up stairs.

My family and I spontaneously came here for Moody McCarthey on a Friday night. As it so happens,…read moreMoody is from NYC, so we really loved his humor and jokes. I honestly couldn't tell if his overly-American jokes were funny to the locals. Do your research, I suppose. Comedy Nest is deep inside a large, old hockey arena, so make sure to give yourself enough time to get there and get your seats. Also, the bathrooms are nowhere near the comedy club itself, so be prepared to exit the comedy club if you need to use the bathroom. It is an adventure. It took through the 3 openers for someone to ask if we wanted something to drink. Small but fair beer options priced how you'd expect at a club (though perhaps not as atrocious as an American comedy club price). Fun venue and a good time. We got a very fair price for the level of humor and amount of laughs we got that night.

By far, this was the greatest nightclub I have ever been to. Truly an amazing place. I only came…read morehere once, some years back but it has NEVER left my mind. First, I must tell you a story of me & my pals bored on a Sunday afternoon at Hooters at Crossgates Mall in Albany. There were several of us talking about doing something spontaneous and one said "Ever been to Montreal?" "Umm...NOOOO! Let's jump in the Blazer and ride." We head north for over 4 hours driving into the unknown, wondering what type of adventures we would have. There was an air of excitement with that "going to another country" feeling. Road trip bitches...more than that because it was UNPLANNED ROAD TRIP. We were wondered if we should smuggle a shitload of Molson's XXX back with us. (Used to be illegal in NY back in the day) Good thing we didn't... We stop at border patrol and they're looking at our licenses. Typical "Why are you going to Canada?" type inquiries. We were asked to get out and wait inside their detention center. Yes...detention center. We walk in and to our left, a glass room with over a dozen middle-eastern people. Men, women and children. To the right, 6-8 Hasidic Jews, just waiting... We sit down and know that a SUV loaded with 4 guys, one girl, all minorities and one of us with the last name HASSIM is gonna conjure up some questions. Everyone...EXCEPT ME, were asked to go into a room alone with the border officer. To this day, I still have no idea why. After hanging out for almost 40 minutes, we're on the road again. We found Urgence later after leaving a strip-club (don't ask). One of the strippers suggested it. Damn...she was right on. The club was in this suburb area away from the city. It was in a HUGE warehouse type building. It was 3 days before New Years and there was a tent in front of the door with cloud-like rolls of vapors from the heat inside. This place was dark and hot. Lasers flying everywhere while the main ballroom had the illest hip-hop playing. Packed with people just dancing like their lives depended on it. Truly amazing was the only way to describe it. Me & Mike wandered into the techno & house room. FUCKING SICK!! The beats were beyond bone-crushing and the lights were pheonomenal. Pure bass was my dinner that night. I had my glow-sticks and I did my thing for a solid hour before I went back to hip-hop land. After a couple of hours of hard partying and noticing that there was not ONE fat person anywhere in this club, we took off for NY. Not trying to be rude, but everyone in there was fucking hard-bodied out. Still a great fucking night. So we're on the road, it's Monday morning around 6:30 and we just passed Saratoga. People are knocked out. We pull over and I "call in sick" to work. Did I want to go? Hell NO!! I also had no idea if we would get back in time anyway. We got home after dropping people off left and right at 8:17AM and we all passed out. GREAT NIGHT all around. Best club EVER.

What a very kool dinner-and-a-show experience! Though it's 100% pur Québecois: so unilingual anglos…read moreneed not attempt. (While that might sound humourous, I'm serious, if you're not REALLY good in Québecois french you will NOT understand this show. I'm *REALLY* good and I had moments I didn't quite catch.) The ambiance and the whole evening of comedy, murder and mystery for the price I think deserves a solid 5 stars. For ~80$ all taxes, drinks, tips and fees included, I had an amazingly fun evening with my friends. You have to reserve in advance, its a 15$ charge for each no-show, so make sure everyone will attend. It's 50$ for a 3-course-dinner +show+taxes+tip included. It's 1.25$ for coat check which is mandatory, (tip for coatcheck not included). And beverages, as well as tip on beverages, not included also. Bienvenue à votre petite ville pour la soirée: Sainte Pepite! They have different themed shows, but the one we attended (January 2019) was a Western theme set in Sainte Pepite. *People from the audience get called upon!* Your friends will cruelly volunteer you up for the task without you even being aware before your name is called, no one is spared! And it's like a roast: so be prepared to answer uncomfortable questions and be poked fun at: don't be an oversensitive, wet blanket! (Read: don't be so 2018, okay?!) Be prepared to join in, dance and play games with the actors! (Fwiw: no topic of your personal life is off limits, no topic is taboo. So you may want to ensure your closet's been cleaned of its' skeletons before attending.) The 2 main options for dinner were chicken or salmon, so vegetarians who don't eat fish and vegans probably need not attempt either. I chose the 'Poulet Supreme' it was just meh. Bland gravy, dry chicken and oversalted veggies (beans), I love salt and this was really way too much. Less than 1 star for all the food: really bland and terrible. Dessert excluded, 3.5 stars for the dessert, a chocolate mousse type cake, nummy! Great coffee too, super impressed with how good the coffee was, 4 stars. I ordered 2 glasses of red wine (7$×2), served freezing cold *le sigh*, but generous portion, 1 kind only to order per glass: Citra d'Abruzzo. There were several options of full bottles available, decently priced (as low as 38$ if memory serves), so likely I would prefer to try that next time with a friend. It's a lot of fun! We all really enjoyed the whole night despite none of us enjoying the meals lol! They could totally charge 10-30$ more *easily* and pimp the dinners a bit better. We all agreed and we were 20 ppl! Go for the show, not the food. It's edible, but not wow. The drinks and the soirée is a blast though! Loved it and would happily repeat the evening, bland meal and all!
