We actually wound up paying less for BOTH pairs of glasses than I would have paid for mine alone at any other establishment in town. I got trifocals (my first year with them) and chose no-line, laser cut lenses in feather-light frames and I couldn't be happier. My son, who has always had to have very thick lenses, got to choose thinner lenses (thanks to Mr. Beeler letting us know they were, in fact, an option), as well as titanium frames and transition lenses. All together, even with all the extras, we paid far less than we would have paid anywhere else! In addition to the excellent products, the service was above and beyond what we expected as well. We had everything thoroughly explained to us and there was absolutely no pressure to upgrade at all. The wait time was much less than what we've spent in the past at other places, waiting to be served. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Reading the reviews is one thing, but as I sat in the waiting area (being inquisitive like I am) I spoke with many who were also waiting for their glasses. The conversations were all the same - each of these customers had been told about Expert Optical by a friend and had found their way to see Mr. Beeler and his wife personally. And the rest, as they say, is history! They became tried and true customers of an establishment that truly cares about their customers! If you need glasses or have glasses that need repairs or adjustments, you should definitely take the time to visit Expert Optical! You won't regret it. I didn't and neither did any of those I spoke with on two different occasions. Besides, in this economy, you owe it to yourself to save every penny you can, and this is a good way to do it! For over a decade I went to a business that was around the corner from my home in Fern Creek - after another company acquired them. I knew it was time for a change. Two business later, I can honestly say Mooney EyeCare Center is and will always be my forever home for my eyes. The staff was extremely efficient and friendly. I felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as I walked through the doors. I love the decor! The waiting rooms and the exam rooms all have the same artistic floor that relaxes you and puts you at ease. There was no wait to get placed into an exam room and the wait for my eye doctor was minimal. My optometrist was Dr. Hargus. His eye examination was thorough and he asked appropriate questions as needed. Dr. Hargus was extremely knowledgeable, speaks very clearly and made direct eye contact when discussing my eye assessment with me. He was also friendly. To my surprise, he instructed her to give me his cell number so he could talk to me for which I am grateful. He cleared up the issues and my surgery went well. Do not be afraid to ask questions because Dr. Haider listens intently and patiently to every concern and/or question before he answers, and I love how caring and thorough he is with his exams. Mind you he has been my orthodontist since we were little, we're now 20 and 29 years old and have felt welcomed by him at every appointment since then til the last few days before closing. He told me he was going into a heart surgery and I was scared for him since it's a lengthy risk, he may have been an old man but was a brave soul to me. This place was very budget friendly since I didn't have any health insurance, the most I've spent on a check up was $53 only because it also doubled as a cavity fill-in. I can agree with another review that when his staff changed the lobby experience changed a lot, Crystal was the last person we had talked to make an appointment for October 16, 2023. The lady scoffed when taking my money to pay the bill, I don't know if she was just like that or in a bad mood but good riddance for that woman. I hope Dr. Burnette is doing well now a days in what I think is his retirement, I wish him nothing but the best for him and his family, knowing he'll always have a place in the hearts of many in Louisville.
