I decided to try Le Chic Reshai after being referred by a friend. We started getting our lashes done at the same time, she went to Shuntol and I went to another "lash specialist" who was a little cheaper. After 4 months, her lashes were strong and healthy and mine were balding and irritated. I decided to try Shuntol to see if she could help me and my lashes. Immediately, I noticed a difference, we had the same convo I've had with 2 other women now about how I wanted my lashes to look, "uhhhh... thick, but not too thick; long, but not too long; curled, but not ridiculous" (you know, something wholly unhelpful). From that convo Shuntol produced the fluffiest, Disney-princess lashes I'd ever seen... and they were indeed, enough to make me feel pretty, but not so much that I felt like a contestant on toddlers and tiaras. She also explained why she decided on the look she created (less curled so they wouldn't be so heavy on my damaged lashes, followed the natural shape of my eye so I wouldn't get an overly dramatic look, etc). Both of which were nice to hear, since my past experiences were all about the "pop" and not health and they made the lashes look less dramatic by putting fewer, but heavier, lashes on (that's definitely cheating my friends, and you can tell they cheated once you're 9 days in and in desperate need of a re-fill). Plus, she is knowledgeable enough that I know if I ever wanted the "I want to distract my enemies mid-sentence" lashes, she can deliver! This commitment to health was apparent during the shedding process as well. There has never been a time (since starting with Shuntol 4-5, three-week cycles ago) where more than one natural lash has shed with the falsies. In fact, many of Shuntol's falsies fall off without any of my natural lashes attached. In the past, I have seen as many as 3-4 of my real lashes glued to one extension! I know what you're thinking, "so does that shedding mean I have to go back more frequently?"; honestly, that is the best part! I went from a 2 week cycle where my lashes only REALLY looked nice the first week, to 2.5 week glam time where they only start to struggle the last two or three days before my next appt (9 days vs 18 days is a no brainer). All this, and it's a small, locally, woman-owned/operated business, I mean, how can you resist supporting the local economy?! When you have an entire hair salon marvel over your eyelashes, you know Le Chic is T.H.E. place to go. I was very hesitant because I'm a wuzzy girl when it comes to my eyes. Biggest baby around! She assured me my eyelids would be glued shut, no cooties or horrific oozing eye infections. She also promised me my natural eyelashes wouldn't all fall out. The hardest part for me was being on the comfy table for 2 hours, that's the first time only. When the grumpy neighbor, your doctor and the local CVS pharmacist say "Boy! You look beautiful today" who knew? Yes, you can pay $30, or even $25. Then again, compare Big Lots to Nordstrom. Do you really want to use the cheap stuff that close to your eyeballs, Not me!!! Also as I said earlier when nearly the entire staff at my hair salon are dragging people over to examine and rave about them, you've got the best! Granted my neck was starting to hurt from staying in the shampoo area too long. She's passionate, patient for us newbies especially this chicken coward and loves, L.O.V.E.S. what she does, it's a good thing!!! Start dialing now! Standby for the compliments too! I stalked the @LeChicReshai Instagram for a few months to get a better idea of the types of lashes she offers. What impressed me most is that Shuntol provides alot of education to her clients on the health and care of both the eyes and lashes. In her career change, Shuntol took the time to truly learn everything that a professional specialist should know about eyelash extension services and she makes sure that each of her clients is comfortable by sharing the information with us. Initially, i was so scared to get lashes. My sister had been a client of Shuntol's & she had always tried to get me to go to her but i never budged. The reason why i never went was because back in high school for prom, it was my first time getting individuals & it couldn't have gone any worse than what it did.. they were super heavy, w/ glue everywhere. By the time prom was over, so we're my eyelashes... (but that's probably what I get for getting them done at the nail salon). i had no lashes left over, & just never turnt back. so yearssssss later, i finally decided to give my sisters lash tech (Shuntol) a chance & couldn't have been happier.
