Arroyo Bakery is such a good spot, especially if you love traditional Mexican bakery items…read more Everything is fresh and full of flavor, from the soft, fluffy conchas to the perfectly sweet pan dulce that's great with coffee. We arrived to find warm, fresh from the oven croissants! The pastries have that classic homemade taste, not too sweet, just right, and you can tell they're made with care and always beautifully shaped. There's a great selection, and it's hard to leave without grabbing a little of everything. I also saw a coffee station past the across from the cash registers. The tiny bakery feels warm and welcoming, and it's one of those places you keep coming back to whenever you're craving authentic sweet treats done right. Walking in, look to the right ( self serve) you grab a round pizza serving tray and some tongs. Then head towards the plexiglass bakery racks and try to contain your excitement! It's ok to ask whomever is standing beside you what some items are because only a few racks have labels. But everyone will recognize the M&M chocolate chip cookies for example. There is a menu for smoothies, which I will definitely go to try in the summer. We even scored a pound of creamy queso, aka "the good cheese" like is served melted with your order of chips at a Mexican restaurant. Got home, smeared some butter on my crossaint shaped, multiple layered breakfast and was mad because I didn't get two of them haha Instead of speeding down the new highways, take the old route though Waughtown and stop in this friendly little shop. You might even find inspiration for your next birthday celebration treats!

I got an ube iced latte and then a raspberry and cream cheese danish. Both were absolutely delightful and came out relatively quickly. This is a great place to stop in if you're in the area. If I had the time, it also looked like a good spot to do some teleworking. They have large windows that look out onto downtown, and it lets in a lot of natural light.

The mimosa was light and flavorful without being overpowering. It was a subtle flavor but pleasant. The chocolate was exactly what you'd expect from a chocolate macaron, which was good. It had a rich chocolate flavor but wasn't too heavy. I did walk with it on a warm day, so it began to melt a bit. But overall, it was still enjoyable. My fiancé ordered the ginger cookie. He liked it. It has a crust of sugar on top and had a nice ginger taste. The texture was soft but didn't fall apart easily. The server at the cash register was helpful. We asked what the Santiago dessert was, and he explained thoroughly. He also asked if the macarons could be in the same box instead of assuming. We didn't stay in long enough to get a vibe necessarily, but everyone sitting inside seemed to be at ease and enjoying their time. We will return to try more.

Each aspect of this business has excellent prices and delicious offerings! I got the Sopes, which were scrumptious and very well prepared. The flavors blended so well together, and the MASA was fried to perfection! I also always have to get some of the delicious pastries from the bakery part and they are always to die for! They have so many fresh offerings: spinach croissants, chocolate croissants, cream cheese croissants, several different types of empanadas and many many more! From the outside, it looks a little unassuming. The parking lot is also not the smoothest... The service is always so friendly and helpful! Whenever I have a question, one of the employees does not mind running over to help me find exactly what it is I'm looking for! I am always greeted by the friendly cashiers as I walk in the doors and as I head through the restaurant, the ladies from behind the counter always greet me as well! The prices are also very good as I usually come home with a bag full of pastries some of which are huge for less than$20. I highly recommend you're trying this spot! Don't let its location nor the way it looks discourage you from trying it! You can't judge a book by its cover!

Coincidentally, I was…read moredoing a Yelp event nearby and I was making conversation when the bartender suggested that I come here. I haven't tried many vegan desserts because I find that something is always missing, it's lacking flavor, or not sweet enough. I can CONFIDENTLY say that, The Ginger Bread Man Bakery is absolutely amazing and had none of those problems. I dare say that these vegan desserts actually tasted better than some of my other favorite bakeries. I love that this gives me another reason to come to Winston. It's really cute and cozy in the inside. However, it is small but there is some seating. The person at the counter was super helpful and very friendly. She said that of course I couldn't go wrong with getting the classic gingerbread which was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how moist it was. There were also a variety of cupcakes where they do rotate them out pretty often. I opted for the blueberry Chai cupcake. I enjoyed the frosting and it had like a blueberry filling on top as well. And lastly I tried the blueberry Cookie Butter Mini pie. That one was very addicting. I tried my best not to eat the whole thing. Since it was warm outside and I had to drive back to Greensboro, I loved that the mini pies where refrigerated and the person at the counter, actually wrapped it up for me so it could stay cool on the ride home. I will definitely come back to try more items and I can add this place in rotation with my favorite bakeries. If you are in the area, do check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

The shop was inspired by his love for baking and encouragement from friends -- and some of those same friends actually work in the bakery today, which made the environment feel really welcoming. We also loved seeing how he collaborates with other local creatives. From merch designed by a local tattoo artist to candles and soaps made through local partnerships, you can really feel the community support inside the shop. Now for the desserts. We tried: * Blueberry Chai Cupcake * Orange Rosemary Cupcake * Key Lime Cupcake * Fruity Pebbles Cake Pop * Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie * Banana Pudding Cookie * Gingerbread Cookie Every flavor combination was impressive. The blueberry chai cupcake literally tasted like drinking a cup of tea, and somehow the banana pudding cookie actually tasted like banana pudding. Our favorite was the Key Lime cupcake. Great desserts, great atmosphere, and great people. Definitely worth visiting if you're in Winston-Salem.

The staff were extremely sweet and helpful. The store front us cute she intimate. I love the cakes and how dense it is then the cream cheese frosting over it takes it to another level. The sweet potato brownie is to die for as well. Thick , dense , sweet, the frosting sets it off and I did get one with pecan this time and it added a contrast to the texture. My only complaint is one if my sweet potato brownies had plastic pieces in it. This was my first time with this issue so I will go back.
