To Kill A Mockingbird on February 22, 2025, an amazing performance with 24 cast members, the youngest the daughter of the Le Chat Nor owners, left us wanting for more. In addition to stellar performances, the scene changes, from the home setting to the courtroom were a symphony of motion and deserving of applause in themselves. Owner Krys Bailey's introduction warning, that we may not be able to return to our seats easily if we needed to attend to a bodily call as we would be competing with cast members congregating in the lobby, was representative of the "down home" feel of Le Chat Noir. We have been long time subscription holders and have enjoyed and appreciated the play and musical selections, the set design, casting, the creative interpretation of the script and the intimate feeling of the theater. There is no poor seat. You will not be disappointed with a visit to le Chat Noir. read more

This is a place where you find so much more than play's. You find improv, burlesque, drunk spelling bee's, and comedy. There are recent adaptations of books and plays. There are original pieces from local writers. There are one night show's and week long reviews. It is an intimate place, just off of Broad Street downtown. And it has a limited bar so you can grab a drink before, after, or during intermission. *Insider's Tip -Every First Friday there is a improv troupe called Schrodinger's Cat. They do a show at 8 pm and 10 pm. The 8 pm show usually sells out so buy a ticket before grabbing dinner. The 10 pm show is just as funny and half price ($5). read more

The first time I came was for a Yelp event, I came back for the First Friday 10pm improv show. This was awesome! It was $12.95 per ticket or something like that, and it was 2 hours of improv! We had a really great time! Love this little theater. Bar staff is great, they make incredibly strong drinks! I highly recommend this. I'm hoping to check out their productions next. read more

My first improv session and it was amazing! Very interactive, interesting, and incredibly awesome! I give the venue 5 stars for an old Hollywood feel very nice and relaxed setting. I give the drinks 5 stars very tasty and well balanced between the liquor and the juice. I give the performance 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! Went to see an improv show here just the other night and was very impressed. Super talented and funny local talent. Improv impressed me because these professionals really have to think on their feet the entire not while being put through the ringer by the host, funny guy as well, and the audience. They also do other types of shows as well. They have a bar right outside the theater room with outstanding bartenders. The room itself is not too big so any seat is a good seat. I would definitely recommend and support the arts here in the CSRA read more

I am shocked that I didn't visit this gem until this time. My friend mentioned that they make a mean cocktail and I was there in a New York minute. Locals know this place as local theatre/performance art place. The bar is adjacent to the performance hall. Very cool vibe. Incredible drinks. I loved my cocktails. The bar is open only towards weekend. But make sure you visit them. I'm sure you will have a gala time. read more

Saw Avenue Q here - loved the play. The actors were very good, great performances and singing. It was opening night, so perhaps the problems can be blamed on that. Theater was very hot - a girl in front of us obviously got sick from sitting in the heat and left partway through the first act. Several others left at intermission because of the heat -- which was actually OK for us because we were then able to see the stage better. I heard they reconfigured the stage and perhaps added too many people, making it hard to see and changing the dynamics of the seating. I also didn't get the seats I thought I was supposed to get. On the phone, I was told I would be in row 4, but ended up in row 7. Nice bar and lounge area for before the show and at intermission. The performers came out after the show and mingled for awhile, which was nice. Limited hours for box office, but when I called at 5 PM on Wednesday, I was prompted to leave a message and I did receive a call back to make the purchase over the telephone. Seating chart online is not same as configured for the play. Still, I like the size of the theater because the audience and characters were very close. The musicians were wonderful and Avenue Q was Avenue Q -- which I would sit though in some pretty terrible conditions to see. read more

As far as a place to attend an Event goes, you can't beat the intimacy of a Concert, Movie, Musical or Play at Le Chat Noir. A great, 100ish seat theatre with a fantastic lobby which makes it good for almost any type of Performance or Gathering. There is Improvisational Comedy, Burlesque Shows, Non-Musical Plays, Musicals, Movies (sometimes FREE movies!!), Concerts, Parties, and even a Live Drawing Event. You can purchase drinks at the bar, sometimes the events will have drink specials and sometimes even food! This off Broadway theatre is a hidden gem in Downtown Augusta. if you are in to edgy plays that make you think, this is the place for you. I love the bar with the unique large crooked mirror. The selection at the bar is limited, but you can order a drink for intermission, and it will be ready. This season, they broadened their performance lineup with Les Miserable and The Tempest. Both these plays are risky undertakings, but were just spectacular. read more

The improv here is hilarious. They serve decent drinks and the prices for them aren't terrible either. Only downside is the parking, which is only street parking. If you're ever coming here for a night time show, getting there early would be your best bet at getting a good parking spot! read more

I visited Le Chat Noir for the first time last night to watch It Can't Happen Here. When you first enter there is a very charming lobby. As everyone mentions the crooked mirror behind the bar is pretty cool. The owner was working the bar along with another gentleman. I will say the drinks are very affordable. Between my wife and I, I was able to purchase 4 beers, a whiskey, and a Cosmo for like $18! Looking back I think maybe our intermission drinks might not have been added to our tab. My only complaint about the bar would be the limited selection of beers. As a beer lover I am not that interested in drinking a Macro Lager. After an opening drink we were shown to our seats. This was probably my first theater performance I have seen since high school 18 years ago. I absolutely loved it. The performance was really great and I loved the intimate seating area. This was something totally new for me and I hope to be back in the future. This was an awesome way to spend a Friday night! read more

My review of Le Chat Noir will be short because it's not completely relevant. I visited Le Chat Noir for a party. This was an after-party for an event I'd attended earlier that day. The space is dark, but in a good way. The decor is nice. When you enter you see a huge crooked mirror behind the bar, which was pretty cool. I haven't seen anything like it. The bar tender was nice and made really great drinks. I had Mai Tai cocktail served in a mason jar and I loved it. I'm not sure if the venue provided the food, but it was good. I especially like the strawberry shortcake. The space has comfortable bar seating and seating throughout.There is also an outdoor area with tables. This is a performing arts venue, so there is a theatre inside, which is nice. I have yet to visit for a performance, but I intend to in the near future. Once I've witnessed a performance, I'll have a more comprehensive report. read more

Le Chat Noir is a gem of a small theater. Intimate, good sight lines, good acting, cool bar, lots of fun.

I planned to attend a free showing of the documentary "Stars and Bars Aflame" at Le Chat Noir, a dinner theater in Augusta, Georgia. This screening had been advertised for on January 16, 2011 (MLK Day) by flyers posted up and down Broad Street, the main drag downtown (the announced location is just off Broad). Admittedly, I was a bit early. My plan was to have dinner before seeing the film. When I walked by the building , however, there was no posted notice that any kind of event was scheduled that evening. There was a group of people gathered in the small bar that is part of the theater but when I tried to enter to inquire if the screening had been canceled, I was rudely confronted by blond woman who not only refused me admittance but would not even answer my question regarding the scheduled showing of the film. My interest in returning to the theater later to see the film destroyed, I continued on my merry way. I still don't know if the film was shown that evening. When I called the listed number for the theater to inquire, there was no answer, not even a recording asking if you'd like to leave a message. As one who had made and edited documentary films myself, I hope to see "Stars and Bars Aflame" one day, hopefully at a less hostile and indifferent venue than Le Chat Noir. read more

It's difficult to separate the act you're seeing here with the quality of the theatre itself; one obviously influences the other. I have seen Schrodinger's Cat (Xtreme Theatre Games) here several times and they are a very good comedy troupe. I'm usually laughing pretty hard at every sketch - some people are funnier than others and they rotate them in and out. The theatre itself is very small so you feel like it is a more personalized and involved performance, whatever you're seeing. As a bar, I am very frustrated that they only have one poor bartender before the show and at intermission running around trying to get everyone's drinks ready. He takes his time and does a good job, and that's a good thing, but give the guy some help! You know your demand is going to be very high for very short amounts of time, prepare for it. So waiting for an intermission beer can take the entire intermission and then some (expect to be made fun of if you're walking in late). 5 stars for the comedy, 3 stars for the bar. read more
