Thankfully the food is delicious: the eggs benedict are perfect with the salmon gravlax, the meat sandwich is humongous, but trailing behind are the avocado toast (good, but just that), and the cheeseburger, because it has Kraft cheese in it and NO. The place is beautiful, and if you come for brunch you might just be seated in the atrium/terrasse while they play some 80s grooves. Yay!

First time trying public Karaoke! This place has a DJ (if…read moreyou want to call him that) and so you just tell him the song you want to sing and he puts it on the list. You present yourself to the mic when it starts. It's cheaper than a private room and if you get there early enough, you have it all to yourself so it's almost like a private room. The karaoke is on the second floor and it's quite spacious and comes with lots of 5$ deals (all entrees and basic calamari, as well as a 5$ gin and tonic loaded with gin so definitely worth the price). They open the second floor at 8pm and the guy comes in at 8:30pm to start playing songs. Once more people show up, it does drag on a bit because there are more songs to go through before it's your turn. Also, if you're shy there's a bigger audience. Loved my time here so much! They had great deals, the food was delicious (much better than you'd expect, I ordered the fried chicken and pogo's), and the service was fast. I'd go back with friends in a heartbeat! I'm grateful for Le Blind Pig. This part of Hochelaga can be kinda variable for good bar fare (in…read moremy opinion) but Le Blind Pig is nearly always just right when it comes to needing something low-key and affordable. My pal and I workout down the street so I've had the pleasure of frequenting the spot semi-regularly on its quieter nights. As several reviewers have mentioned, the beers are hella cheap here. It's also worth mentioning that the majority of the beer is house brew and it's pretty good (particularly for the price). Given this feature of their drink prices comes the downside to this place: it gets PACKED. And not in a fun way. When this place gets full people are piled up on each other making it really difficult to get around. I also find that the crowd changes to unsavoury characters the more the night carries on. Once you hit peak business hour at this place it kinda feels like a gross frat house party. But back to the positives. The food is really accessible and pretty affordable (much like the drinks). My two go-tos are the grilled romaine salad and the tartar (the appetizer format is a perfect small meal and it comes with a salad). They used to have a larger menu with more pub menu-type options but I can still appreciate the variety offered now. Finally, I should mention that I find the service pretty variable. When they're really packed you can be waiting quite a while for your server and you can only order at the bar if you're seated there. It's definitely improved over the years but the servers also tend to be on the inexperienced (and drunk) side. Not the worst, but definitely could be improved on!

Like most people, this place caught my eye for the their cheap 3$ beers…read more Ther website describes itself as offering "American inspired comfort food" although I was disappointed with how limited their menu now is. After checking reviews and previous posts on their Facebook page, I see they used to offer more burger options and even tacos but these have been removed. We came here on a Friday evening around 6pm, it was already full but we managed to find a table and spent the next couple hours enjoying ourselves for the most part. The atmosphere is hip, the banquet seats were comfy and everything we ordered tasted great. We tried their pogo mac and cheese which is deep fried mac and cheese on a stick, topped with green onions, bacon and sour cream, served with fries. This was decadent and very fitting for "bar food". We also got fried chicken, falafels and poutine which were equally delicious. The food is very salty so you want to drink more. The prices are a little steep for how small their portions are and I also realised that the 3$ beers are not the best deal in town, if you want a full pint, you'll need two, so the price ends up being similar to other bars. This is however a great way to sample the variety without breaking the bank. The biggest problem we had was with slow service. Now I haven't been to a bar in a while and understand that perhaps they are not trying to turn tables as quickly as servers would in a regular restaurant, however this place was severely understaffed. Le Blind Pig can seat 80 people and there was only one server + the barman for the entire evening. We waited a long time to get our order taken and even longer if we just asked for a glass of water. Despite the slow service, I really like the vibe and the food, this bar is a great addition to the neighborhood. I would give it another try since it was overall fun. Also, cool detail - the bathroom has a commununal sink for men and women, comprised of many little shower heads to mimic rainfall. Very NEAT.

Guiness was excellent (I would hope so in an Irish pub), as was the shot of Jameson. Her Fish and Chips were skimpy, mostly fries. My Burger Tip & Top (actually chicken, not beef) was interesting, but not quite what I was looking for. Again, portion was very small, with lots of fries to fill the plate. Staff was friendly, but with the crowd very slow. I'd come again for a beer, but I'd leave the kitchen alone.

I was hungry on my stop, so I ordered their full vegan pizza ($17 plus tax) -- really well-done, with lots of nice toppings and an impressive homemade crust. No special vegan meats or cheeses, just nice bread and toppings. Of course, the beer is the highlight, but I use Yelp primarily for food, so my review is centred on that. But it still tasted good. Pecan pie was delicious, nice crust, more shortbread-y than butter-y. The ham in the pot masson was pretty good. It was a lot for 500ml for like 6$? It's definitely enough for two. I think the strawberry rhubarb pie was sent raw? Or maybe just not cooked correctly? I popped it in the oven and it cooked on top but still evidently raw on bottom. The filling still managed to be really tasty.

But for the rest of the group, who were not interested in beer, they also had a selection of cocktails and wine. And it was just a nice spot--yes, it was lively, but it wasn't over-bearing.
