The fries were so delicious, and if you want a more French experience have them with house mayo instead of ketchup. We had grilled pate fois gras for a starter and that was interesting. Good but unique-it reminded me of French toast. We also tried three desserts: chocolate cake, crème brûlée, and the dessert of the day panacotta. The panacotta was my favorite of these but all were good. The hostess brought us complimentary macarons as well (so nice) and I will say my first taste of pistachio macaron will not be my last. Tucked in a rue in Versailles, Le Bouchon du Marche offers Lyonnaise style foods, which are very delicious. Prix fixe menus available, either entree or dessert with plat principal or all three together. They have a great charcuterie board, wonderful terrine, and various other starters such as herring. For mains there are a lot of Lyonnaise staples like andouillette, sabodet, rognons de veau, etc, as well as poisson du jour and entrecôte du boeuf. Typical desserts, sorbet (the pear is great), crème brûlée, and the cheese plate of course is wonderful, which is served with a salad. Highly recommend reservations, it's a busy place but the service is always great. The ambiance is classic French, close seating, quaint with drawings on the walls of art you'd expect to buy walking by the Seine in Paris. If you ever find yourself in Versailles you really should consider dining at Le Bouchon du Marche.

I ordered a hamburger, which was one of the best I've ever had! They grind the meat fresh for each hamburger. My husband ordered the club sandwich. Both came out promptly, nice and hot with fresh ingredients. I wish we could get this quality of food in America. Btw, some people complained that they don't serve french fries here. Ignore them.
