So happy that this place has finally opened! Have seen it for a while from the outside but had the chance to visit it last night. It's beautifully decorated and combines rustic and modern in a very elegant way. I thought it was a fancy place but the prices are incredibly reasonable! It even has a fairly decent vegetarian selection which is rather rare for French restaurants. I had the risotto which was very delicious! And the wine was lovely too. The whole atmosphere is definitely worth a visit and the staff are super nice too! Sarah who served us was lovely and very helpful! We have eaten downstairs this time with the view of the lovely little terrace but I'm sure upstairs the view will be beautiful over looking the canal! Absolutely enjoyed the place!!!

Glass of Syrah and a plate of Camembert beats 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps any day

Dress rehearsal night at this new franchise outlet for Bistrot Pierre. I visited with a group of Birmingham Instagramers, #igersbirmingham We were given the run of the place to take photographs- access all areas! The first thing to say is it's a truly lovely space- ground floor at Gas Street level has a great bar, a couple of semi private areas and a large conservatory-style area. Downstairs there is space for bigger groups, there are access points out onto the canal side and a small garden. The team have done a magnificent job with the decoration and layout. The food was really good. Starters were sharing platters, olives & pate, plus baked camembert with French bread & toasted ciabatta. Pleasingly, unlike many other French restaurants they had some very decent vegetarian choices. I carnivorously chose steak rocquefort salad which was absolutely delicious. A couple of glasses of Syrah washed down the food satisfyingly I can thoroughly recommend Bistrot Pierre and look forward to returning with my family.

This restaurant was perfect for what we were looking for. Food: The food was decent. We ordered the gousse d'ail rôtie for our starter, and the poulet printanier and burger maison for our main. The beef in the burger was quite average, and the burger was nothing special. The chicken was tasted nice, but the sauce was a bit too salty which overpowered the taste. However the potatoes were delicious. The bread with the garlic butter was tasty and the bread was nice and fresh. The presentation of the overall food was great. Service: service was excellent and all the staff were really great. Atmosphere: The decor and the ambience of the restaurant was very cosy and nice, with a few different rooms which made it feel very authentic. Price: The price was average for a restaurant. Our meal came to just over £30.

Luckily managed to have a preview of the Le Bistrot Pierre as part of our latest IgersBirmingham instameet. It was super cool having access to this new canal side French bistro - including access to all parts of the building, even the kitchen (where all the magic happens)! This gorgeous Grade II listed building has been transformed into a fabulous canal-side French bistro where you could quite happily spend a few hours getting lost in the beautiful decor and vibe...you feel very Parisian! The building's courtyard has been refurbished to create additional outdoor seating and there is additional seating with canal views. We were treated to some delicious starters of camembert, sourdough toast, olives, red peppers, hummus...oh and more bread! This was followed by a spinach, gruyère and asparagus tart with dressed leaves and herb aïoli which was so yummy. We also has the super salade consisting of marinated and grilled halloumi cheese with quinoa, linseeds, edamame beans, puy lentils, baby leaves, mint, pomegranate, croûton and a baby caper and harissa vinaigrette...basically packed with loads of flavour! The vegetarian options are limited (maybe 3/4 dishes) but I was really pleased with what we picked and would definitely order again. The staff were super friendly and were keen of getting any feedback about the service so be sure to let them know, they are really responsive. I look forward to going back over the summer months and indulging in the a dessert. This place is going to be buzzing over Summer so I would recommend getting down to this super chic place right away! Note to self - the cosy booth seat tucked away at the back of the restaurant is most definitely the best seat in the house...must go back for this reason alone!

Restaurant Review Le Bistrot Pierre Birmingham Sunday Dining Perfection from Le Bistrot Pierre Birmingham... the long awaited arrival of this French favourite did not disappoint. Having dined at the Nottingham flagship on several occasions, I was prepared for a nice lunch. I wasn't, however, prepared for the stunning building. Individual touches throughout, with each room offering its own unique character. Dining from the Sunday Set Menu I was spoilt for choice and delighted to see so many Gluten Free and Vegetarian options. Just as impressive where the vast amount of Wines by the glass ensuring more accessibility to higher end choices. I highly recommend this versatile Restaurant, which can be suit the Business Lunch and the intimate Dinner. Anthony my server deserves a special mention, as his product knowledge was superb. Huge thanks to the team, I cannot wait to return! Highly Recommended #HootHint #HootLive #Birmingham #BrumBloggers

Absolutely beautiful restaurant and fantastic large outdoor dining area which is great on a nice sunny day dining by the canal. The food is always at a high standards and having eaten there several times now I can say I've eaten a lot from the main menu and have never had any problems whatsoever. The staff are attentive, polite and even spark into some friendly conversation which is nice. They have a reasonable lunch time offer for 2 course or three course meals. They also offer pre-theatre menus too. Can't fault the place.

You will find greenery running all upside the walls as well as a fantastic view of the canal. In the evening the ambience inside is also great. Reservations are available but you can usually get in without too much of a wait time. On this occasion I ordered a spinach and mushroom crepe which was fantastic! It's probably my favourite vegetarian dish that they do. It's a sensible portion that leaves you satisfied. For dessert I ordered the praline crepe which was again fantastic. You generally find with dessert crepes that they can do no bad no matter where your buying it from. Cotes crepes are above standard in terms of quality with a light pancake and not overly sweet praline feeling. For me in particular this restaurant shines in the summer. The cocktails are great and the dining experience is unique.

My ski friends (including fellow Yelper Lesley B from Manchester) and I had a reunion yesterday. We…read morehit the indoor snowdome at near by Tamworth and I was delegated the task of finding somewhere nice for dinner. Now, considering Birmingham is the UK's second largest city, you'd think that it would be full of lovely fine dining experiences. Well, you'd be wrong and I was struggling when the few Michelin starred places were fully booked So what's the next best thing to a Michelin starred restaurant? A restaurant run a chef who used to run a Michelin starred restaurant! The chef-patron Andy Waters won a Michelin star when he ran a restaurant of the same name in Henley-in-Arden. He has upped sticks to open this restaurant in central Birmingham in July last year and the Michelin people have already been expressing an interest in rating his new restaurant The restaurant is quite cozy but beautifully decorated in a modern style with an eye for detail extending from interesting curved light arrangements hanging from the ceiling to flowers in the bathrooms. After an afternoon's exertions on the slopes, we were hungry and opted for the tasting menu, which included 7 courses with coffee and half a bottle of water included in the price. There was a choice offered for 4 courses 1. The amuse bouche was a cup of parsnip and apple soup. My friend summed it up perfectly by saying it was a taste of Christmas in a cup 2. I opted for Cornish crab with crispy king prawn & salmon tartare for my first course. The Cornish crab tasted very fresh and was accented with some caviar. The salmon tartare could have done with a foil, perhaps something with a bit of texture for contrast. The crispy king prawn was so lovely I even ate the deep fried tail, which flummoxed my friends when they found my plate to be bare! My sister said her carpaccio of beef with ricotta & parmesan cheese, rocket leaves & sweetened red pepper married flavours together perfectly 3. While the others enjoyed wonderfully sweet seared scallops with almonds, sultanas & caper butter sauce, I couldn't resist the seared foie gras with poached pear & spiced Muscat sauce. A good choice with decadently rich liver being offset by the sweet pear and sauce. 4. I think the restaurant undersold our universal choice for main course by describing it as "Jimmy Butler's free range pork with apples, calvados & a confit of savoy cabbage". Once the maitre d' had clarified that this was pork prepared in 4 ways - black pudding, slow braised cheek, pan roasted loin and roasted belly, the monkfish alternative was quickly dismissed. My favourite preparation was the braised cheek, which went very well with the black pudding it was sitting on 5. The cheese course was a deep fried ball of goat's cheese with a slice of truffle and honey. I love truffle and I felt it was a bit drowned out by the goat's cheese, so I ate my slice separately! 6. Our pre-dessert of passion fruit jelly was topped with a fruit mixture. Nice palate cleanser 7. The kitchen was unable to offer the desserts on the tasting menu and so we were given free choice of the dessert menu to choose from. We all chose different dishes to be able to share different things. My poached pear was lovely. My sister's tiramisu was a deconstructed version of the Italian classic shaped into a chocolate box. Lesley B's chocolate fondant didn't quite have the molten interior expected while the last dessert was a trio including mango sorbet. Some lovely petit fours accompanied coffee. The ingredients in the dishes included some real treats - caviar and truffle to name 2. The presentation was also top class. A couple of minor technical slips but a most enjoyable meal Service was lovely and we were able to chat quite a lot with the maitre d' to find out a bit more about the restaurant and its history. I await with interest to see if the Michelin guide will reward them in January

She seated us without our full party present. We were able to get a look at the menu b4 the rest of our party arrived. Our head waiter or manager and server were attentive and accommodating. For apps we had half a dozen oysters, chicken skewers, and duck rolls. Drinks were the Porn star martini (my new fave), a Bellini and margaritas. All delicious. For entrees, we had the crispy duck served with rice & mash, and the sirloin. All very very good. Love is!

Whilst the restaurant is on the more pricier side, the service and trendy atmosphere more than makes up for it. The 23 year old blond hostess was charming and seeing the balloons my friend had gotten me, was quick to congratulate me and start up a conversation on our plans for the evening and what she may recommend. Once we were seated, the waiter came round numerous times to make sure we were doing alright and then we had sufficient drinks and food throughout the night. The food was pretty good, but what really made the restaurant stand out were the drinks. The cocktails they've got are simply delicious. The complimentary chocolate truffles for dessert was just another addition to the remarkable service I received throughout the evening. My only criticism was that despite having joined their loyalty club earlier in the week, after being tempted by triple points on your birthday and a 'welcome gift' online; at the restaurant, the £20 welcome voucher which was supposedly pre-loaded on my card and needs redeeming within 25 days of receiving it could not be used as it needed another 20 hours to be activated. Whilst it was great to receive triple points, its not a restaurant I would go unless there's an occasion to celebrate and with the £20 expring in a few weeks, it was quite the let down that I was unable to use it.

A friend and I popped in for lunch earlier today as we had a voucher sent to us for a cheeky 40% discount on main meals. Having a look over the menu I quickly picked out the goats cheese and beetroot salad while my vegetarian friend went for the camembert baguette served with fries. She did mention that there was a slight lack of vegetarian options on the menu so this could be a bad restaurant choice for those avoiding meat. The food we had came quickly and was very nicely presented. Everything tasted great and our waiter was accommodating and chatty. When we got the bill our discount had not been taken off, we questioned the total and it was quickly adjusted. At a little under £10 each for lunch with a drink .... how can you complain at that. I don't think I will be rushing back here without a discount code or voucher, but overall a good lunch.
