Turkey Club with fries and coleslaw
Milee S.

I ate here before boarding (well trying to board) a flight back to the US. There weren't a ton of options in the terminal, so we landed here. The service was completely non existant. We had to flag the mannish waitress down to be seated, and then had the bartender take our orders. Not a big menu, but had smoked meat sandwiches, soups, regular sandwiches, a bunch of appetizers and a couple salads. After much back and forth, we chose the chicken quesadilla and the roasted turkey club sandwich. My sandwich came with sad looking bacon, two pieces of deli turkey, pickles, coleslaw and some soggy oven baked fries on the side . I was starving so I ate. There were two mayo packets also on the plate (a little plastic bowl would have been much nicer). The sandwich was just okay; nothing to write home about but not inedible. The quesadilla looked delicious though. All told, bill was under $30 for 2 with drink and tip. I'd probably choose one of the quick serve places in the future is in Montreal's airport.

Beer, wine, bloodies, and a friendly server!!

Need a place to kill a little time whilst you wait for your flight? This is the spot. Catch the game, grab a beer (or a completely passable Bloody Mary), try the open-faced chicken nachos, and watch the international flights roll in. Then get on your flight pleasantly buzzed. Win-win all around.

Do not eat here. It's a ripoff. The food is horrible. Over priced. Their reasoning is, 'it's at the airport. What do you expect?'

I do feel that my service was lessened by the other 2 ladies due to the fact that I had no interest in being flirted with for my money (I was the only female non-staff in the place). The location itself was clean, the food was decent, and the drinks were cheap. $4 for 80% of their alcohols so that made reordering that much easier on my wallet. They charge for your mixers (in my case, gingerale) but with the alcohol so cheap you can't really complain. I would expect that they have bar-height tables near the windows that overlook both hockey rinks, instead if you sit at the tables by the window you actually can't see over the boards which renders the windows a little superfluous. Overall I'm glad the place exists so that I can grab some drinks and watch the man-friend play hockey since they didn't mind me pulling my bar-height stool up to the window. That being said, this is a local bar on the side of the highway that noone will end up in unless they meant to get here.

Then there was a set of doors you had to walk through to get to the bar/restaurant there. I tried to order a cocktail but they didn't have a couple different liquors. There was 1 bartender and she was very overwhelmed. We ordered the nachos and poutine. The poutine wasn't bad, but the nachos weren't anything exciting either.

It's hard to spot if you don't look for signs but it's well worth it. This isn't your typical bar. This is a friendly bar where mostly older and calmer people go to. This isn't Annie's or Pioneer where you always see a dumb kid from Abbott puke on a table or a girl, slutty girls dancing then trying to hook up with the next thing to them regardless of gender (not due to bisexuality but due to the % of alcohol in their blood), etc. As of mid-2014, this bar is now my go-to bar. I love it there. The food is very cheap and the beer is even cheaper. Sadly it still looks like a bingo bar from the 80's. There are no pool tables just slot machines and a TON of huge TVs EVERYWHERE making it a decent sports bar. Price: 6/5, cheapest beer I've seen in any bar in the West Island as a non-special event thing: 20.88$/4L pitcher after 9pm on weekends every week. Service: 6/5, I love the crew there. They're nice, polite but homey and friendly. The Bartender Alex is my new Bff. Set-up: 3/5 Pretty crappy to be honest. Still looks like a bingo bar and no pool tables. Only 1 bar available but the place is relatively small. Gave it extra points for the back parking. Food: 3.5/5, decent for the price. Nothing to die for but it's good food. The staff makes up for anything though. The manager is ultra-super-friendly, the bartender and waitresses are GENUINELY friendly, none of that "Fake Smile for a tip" stuff. Free WiFi (just ask for the password, it doesn't change), you can bring food from Dominos/Couche-tard/Tim Horton's. Be sure to ask the manager first if you're going to bring in Pizza since they do their own pizza). I don't think he'll truly mind due to his friendliness but I'd consider it proper conduct. Saturday evenings can get a little full so be careful about your timing. Otherwise it's pretty nice and calm.
