Water level bar and beach club

Absolutely perfect! Stunning views, excellent food, excellent service. They have their own funicular to get you water access. The bar at the water level is fantastic. They have a small boat that can take you into the town in 5 minutes.

Can't wait to come back! The service was top tier. We had lost luggage at the airport prior to our arrival at the hotel and the staff took our lost luggage information and handled the calls to the airline and transportation of the luggage back to us. They also provided my husband with sandals and an outlet convertor, free of charge, since those items were in our lost luggage. Their restaurant, La Serra, has the most delicious foods I've ever had and a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean. We did not need for anything while we were there, they treated us with such hospitality.

This is a nice feature for any hotel, but in Positano it is an absolute life saver! The nearest street is a few flights up from the hotel entrance, so carrying heavy luggage down can be quite precarious. However, they have trained professionals ready and eager to help! I was amazed when they scooped up more luggage than I could carry alone over flat ground and easily traversed the steps to lead us to the hotel. Your first glimpse of Villa Magia is breathtaking. As you walk onto their courtyard, there are two beautiful trees and a flowerbed that overlook the cliff and the beachside of the city. Walking deeper in, you are met with a gorgeous terrace lined with vines and plenty of seating that overlooks the coast. It feels like walking into a postcard! This leads to the outer dining area for Luna, the hotel restaurant. Definitely try to eat here if it fits your schedule! The food is amazing, and the head waiter, Salvatore (Sal), was a joy to interact with. He will make wonderful suggestions and make you feel right at home. The staff at the front desk, just inside past the terrace, are also fantastic. They ameliorated every aspect of our stay, including providing us with an iPhone and messaging system via WhatsApp for 24-hour assistance. We worked primarily with Jada, who was amazing and so welcoming. When she found out we were planning a day trip to Capri, she not only reserved our tickets for us (which we found out later sold out, so we were lucky she had!), but also gave us her personal recommendations as she used to be a skipper for one of the boats. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and had absolutely amazing views. There were high ceilings and even built-in sauna! Our favorite parts were the sun room and the balcony garden. Every morning they would deliver breakfast to our room (which we had pre-selected the night before and sent via WhatsApp), and they would set it up wherever we liked. Our entire stay the staff made us feel like both family and royalty all at once. I absolutely cannot recommend Villa Magia enough. Hurry to make your reservation, because there are only 12 rooms on property! A one-of-a-kind experience that is sure to enhance your visit in beautiful Positano.

The staff here is incredible -- from the front desk to housekeeping, to the restaurant staff. We enjoyed a fabulous view from the balcony of our spacious and spotless room. Breakfast was wonderful and the omelets just perfect, along with many other selections. Dinner was also excellent while enjoying such a lovely view of Positano to accompany the excellent food and service. The common areas of the hotel are inviting and spacious and the pool area is wonderful with a bar and bar menu perfect for lunch while taking in the view. There are several other inviting restaurants and shops close by as well that we enjoyed during our week long stay. The hotel staff was very helpful and informed when we contacted them prior to coming with our COVID concerns. We were somewhat reluctant to resume travel during this time - but the staff made us feel very comfortable with reasonable precautions. We are so glad we decided to travel to the Poseidon!

Of note, in Italy, cocktails are just basic mixed drinks but they were still well made and tasted delicious so that's what matters. They also had an extensive cocktail list which was nice as most of the Amalfi Coast doesn't have an extensive cocktail list. The view here is gorgeous. First two days, we took stairs up and down, everywhere we went (according to my health app, one day we did 82 floors...) and that was killer. Definitely helps going around on the road and avoiding those demon stone stairs. Our room was high up on the third floor with an awesome jetted tub to soak our sore feet and legs at the end of each day. The bed is in the firmer side but still comfy. Also appreciate that they provide lots of pillows and blankets. The balcony is wonderful! Two beach chairs and a table with two seats are perfect for soaking in the fresh air and breathtaking views. Housekeeping and the staff are great! We didn't get room service during our stay but the housekeeper still handed us fresh towels and tp rolls (they're super thin) on our way to our room. Spidey senses are sharp! Also, there's no iron in the room do you just need to call and request. Highly recommend!!!

Extremely unsettling experience at the restaurant…read more The most serious issue: our table being photographed by male staff members appeared to be happening and was witnessed by multiple women at our table. The bartender and a bald male staff member stood behind the white swinging bar doors across from us, laughing and repeatedly looking at a phone aimed in our direction. One of them then raised the phone over the doors. After the meal, I directly asked the bartender whether he had taken a picture of our table. Instead of answering clearly, he repeatedly appeared to deliberately misunderstand ("Oh, you want a picture?"), then became visibly nervous when I corrected him: "No, I mean earlier, behind the door." He laughed and claimed it was "a picture of the view." This made no sense. It was already dark outside, the restaurant lights were bright enough to reflect the interior onto the windows, and the bar area was positioned somewhat far from the windows. More than half of our table was women. It was deeply uncomfortable and, frankly, disturbing. There were other disappointments as well. Our party of six was informed only after being seated that we were required to order an exotic tasting menu rather than being allowed to choose individual dishes. A young female server with glasses was polite and genuinely helpful in trying to work with the chef so our table could agree on a single menu, and she was one of the few positives of the evening. Even so, the final bill exceeded €1,000 for food that was merely average. There was also a simple request to have something served on the side that wasn't, but that was just a small mistake. The restaurant itself is visually beautiful. However, what strongly appeared to be photographing guests, followed by an evasive response when questioned directly, crossed a line that no atmosphere or presentation can make up for. Privacy and professionalism should never be optional at that price point.

Though I imagine one can choose much fancier properties this hotel was, for me, pretty perfect, meeting my requirements in every way. Booking.com describes Hotel Reginella as a 3-star property and more than 350 guests have rated the place 9.3 on a 10-point scale. These things factored into my decision to book my stay at Hotel Reginella but so did the photos and the stated distance (about 3/4 mile) from Spiaggia Grande, Positano's main beach. For about $355USD/night in May (breakfast included), you will find that Hotel Reginella: * is immaculate and charming; * has nice water views from the rooms; * features good AC; * staffs with extremely competent employees happy to give good restaurant recommendations, secure dinner reservations, schedule luggage porter service, and provide very helpful information for getting to the Path of the Gods; and * provides a wonderful in-room breakfast - delivered on your schedule - featuring your choice of protein, fruit, juices, breads, coffee, and sweets. Hotel Reginella sits among shops and restaurants and other hotels, on a road that's only minutes, by foot, from Poistano's main shopping area. Though the main beach is easily reached from this road, once you become a bit more comfortable, the stairs up and down (400+) are a more traditional way to get between locations. After the first night the stairs down were my route of choice. I remain 100% happy with my decision to book 3 nights at Positano's Hotel Reginella.

Love this hotel!…read more I'm in love with Positano and in love with the Reginella. Positano can be difficult to navigate when you first arrive if you are not familiar with it. If you take the ferry in there are porters who can bring your bags up not affiliated with the hotel. The hotel offers an affordable transportation option to be picked up or dropped off at the Naples airport. Taking the stairs up or down is the fastest way to get to the beach or center but is a little bit of exercise. However being a few levels up provides incredible views and puts you much closer to a lot of great restaurants including my favorite Da Vincenzo. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and attentive. They all go out of their way to help you and do it with a smile and professionalism that is as good as it gets. They all felt like friends by the end of my stay. The room was exceptionally clean and we had an amazing partial view of the town. Breakfast is available on the first floor with excellent coffee. The staff made terrific recommendations to us while we were there for restaurants, the beach and getting around. I can't wait to go back to Positano and the Reginella.

We found this hotel, tried to book it twice (even though it was not our first choice) and were told the payment was NOT processed and the reservation was not made. So, we found another hotel and booked that properly instead (it was a MUCH more reasonable rate as well, and such nice owners!) then later, I received a confirmation that villa gabrisa confirmed our booking. I immediately responded and said that we had in fact not made the booking, included the screenshots of the "payment not processed" screens, and asked that they kindly cancel whatever booking they seemed to have on file. The owners said no, the rate was non-refundable and they would not cancel it. I explained what happened and they still said no way, we had to keep our $1700 for two night booking even though we did NOT want to stay there. They were being so rude, we decided it wasn't worth it to deal with them. The other hotel owner was so incredibly kind and when we explained what villa gabrisa was doing, they cancelled our reservation at no cost to us (even though that was a nonrefundable rate as well - the difference in kind and considerate ownership). On site, it was obvious the owners were being rude to us based on this situation. We tried to interact with them as little as possible, but it was still so disappointing to spend so much money for such an unpleasant experience. I would never recommend this hotel, all based on the poor customer service and rude ownership.

Everything is perfection and I'm not exaggerating. I've stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, but this one to me is the peak. Our room was on another level. The most magnificent marbel bathroom, incredible shower, the bed was so comfortable with amazing bedding, linens, towels. The floors, the couch, every detail, even the closet and TVs. Don't even get me started about the balcony, it was so perfect that it literally felt like AI. Walking outside to the patio and being immersed in the magnificent views of Positano with the cliffside, there's just no words, you really have to live it to feel it! The pool is stunning, the food was out of this world, every moment was just pure bliss. I could stay here every year, you truly are transported into another dimension. Not only from the beauty, but service, of quality and general bliss. This is truly one of those places where you get what you pay for! Yes, it is exorbitantly expensive, but it's worth every penny because the memories that you create and the feeling that you take with you will last a lifetime! I cannot wait to return. Room number 71, one of the best I've ever stayed in! Breakfast was so exquisite, along with all of our lunches and dinners. I cannot wait to return! Their private Beach Club was also next level. I cannot stress the importance of how every little detail is thawed out and executed just perfectly. I love everyone at the hotel everyone that works there, & everything they offer, it's just the best!

How fitting it was when I got to stay here for a few days during my cousin's writer's workshop back…read morein March. I love how they continue to support writers. This was the workshop's 15th year. John Steinbeck once stayed here and wrote, "Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone." It really is a breathtaking, magical city that I was fortunate to visit. What makes it even more amazing is that it is owned by the Sersale family from Naples who have opened up their summer vacation home and turned it into a lovely hotel in 1951. They had purchased the adjacent building next door to expand. This hotel was also once a US Army rest resort. It is still a family operated hotel with some staff. Antonio, the co-owner and general manager was at the writer's workshop dinner, and his wife Carla does the gardening throughout and designs for the Emporio Sirenuse boutique store across the street. Famous celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Kylie Jenner have also stayed here. The rooms are a good size. We had a marble bathroom with huge bathtub and a small patio seating that had wooden lattice windows that opened to the pool/terrace overlooking the beach. I'm shocked about a Dyson hair dryer in its own box. The turn down service was so great. They laid out my sleep clothes, a small towel on the floor near the bed, slippers, a Baci chocolate (my fave), bottled water, turned down the lights and put music on the TV, and gave a card with the weather report for the next day. It was helpful! Positano was chilly and sometimes rainy mid March. Antonio, not the co-owner though same first name, was at the front and greeted us when we transferred from our AirBNB. He was the sweetest and helpful when I inquired about a tour to Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. Even when I left before the writer's workshop ended, he said I should stay. I really wished I could! I had already taken 3 days post spring break from work since I had been to Germany and was headed to London before going home. The spa was open to the writers and their +1s. After hiking Mt. Vesuvius, I got to sit and relax my muscles in the sauna, ice room, and did 2 dips in the cold plunge pool. The snacks and tea were great. I loved that there was a shower with Aveda products. The gym was also on the same floor. La Sponda restaurant at the hotel terrace area is a Michelin star. They're usually open for dinner, but they were closed because it was still considered winter and not open until the end of March or beginning April during peak season. We were fortunate to enjoy a cocktail hour prior to dinner at La Sponda specifically for the writer's workshop. They also served a buffet breakfast plus a la carte entrees for 2 days. I missed one day since I had my tour of Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius in Naples and left early am before breakfast. I did take advantage the second day! Btw, you can also order in room service. I loved everything at Le Sirenuse from all the plants and flowers to the detailed decor, epic views, delicious food and friendly staff. This was a once in a lifetime experience I will never forget.

What makes this hotel special is that it's built into a cave! You'll find the restaurant on the water's edge, and the rooms are tucked away along the back. Plus, there are elevators, which is a big help for anyone who needs a little extra support or has mobility challenges. The service here is top-notch! They were so attentive to our needs, knew who we were for the week, and made sure everything was perfect. Just a heads-up, room service is a bit later in the day. I really loved this location because it's so easy to get to the ferry every day and you can grab a cabana nearby.
