A decision to stay 3 nights at Hotel Reginella (room #29) on a recent visit to Positano proved to be a good one. Though I imagine one can choose much fancier properties this hotel was, for me, pretty perfect, meeting my requirements in every way.
Booking.com describes Hotel Reginella as a 3-star property and more than 350 guests have rated the place 9.3 on a 10-point scale. These things factored into my decision to book my stay at Hotel Reginella but so did the photos and the stated distance (about 3/4 mile) from Spiaggia Grande, Positano's main beach.
For about $355USD/night in May (breakfast included), you will find that Hotel Reginella:
* is immaculate and charming;
* has nice water views from the rooms;
* features good AC;
* staffs with extremely competent employees happy to give good restaurant recommendations, secure dinner reservations, schedule luggage porter service, and provide very helpful information for getting to the Path of the Gods; and
* provides a wonderful in-room breakfast - delivered on your schedule - featuring your choice of protein, fruit, juices, breads, coffee, and sweets.
Hotel Reginella sits among shops and restaurants and other hotels, on a road that's only minutes, by foot, from Poistano's main shopping area. Though the main beach is easily reached from this road, once you become a bit more comfortable, the stairs up and down (400+) are a more traditional way to get between locations. After the first night the stairs down were my route of choice.
I remain 100% happy with my decision to book 3 nights at Positano's Hotel Reginella. read more
