Great brisket!! Would like to know the exact location each day that it is open!! Owner is really friendly and the bbq is always good.

During a noontime lunchtime park visit today, I decided to try food from a vendor I had never tried before. My girl had headed to the Babatürk Food Truck, but I was in the mood for BBQ. So I had the brisket sandwich. Several thick slices of a grayish brisket in a hoagie bun. No pickle or cole slaw to provide acid. No smoke ring in the meat. I suppose I should have known better and gone to another truck. As the older man was taking my cash for my order, he asked - I thought at first it was said tongue in cheek - if I minded if he slugged the younger man doing the food prep. In retrospect, maybe I need to have greater appreciation for the stressed lives of people doing food service while working inside small metal boxes. Even so, I left no tip. I added the spiciest sauce option at the counter. And the sauce was the best thing about the whole affair. The meat was delicate to chew but was too fatty. And there was more bun than protein. I expected more for $10. It was a mind numbingly inadequate sandwich. My girl said if I could dissect from the hoagie a piece of the meat both untouched by the sauce and with no obvious fat, she would taste a piece. She said the only descriptors she could think of was "a tender, tasteless chew." (Her experiences with brisket in the past have left her scarred because she believes everyone prepares brisket in Kalamazoo to chew like shoe leather.) I've been looking for a place in Kalamazoo that can hold their own against some of the stellar BBQ joints in Charlotte NC and I think I've found it. I had the pulled pork sandwich which came topped with homemade coleslaw. The meat was I readily tender with nice smoke rings and a crispy outside. The slaw was a nice compliment to the pork and balanced the sandwich nicely. I'll definitely be back to see what else they have to offer! Keep up the good work guys! read more

We were at a party yesterday evening catered by lazy man. It was all absolutely delicious. The brisket was delicious and amazingly tender. Pork was delicious, but the chicken was what stole the show. The flavor was absolutely amazing, a great combination of smoke and seasoning. We just couldn't stop eating the chicken! As far as sides go, the beans were good and lots loved the cucumber salad (I'm. It a fan of cucumbers so can't attest myself) and the cole slaw was absolutely delicious with a bit if a dill flavor. We'll definitely have to seek them out some time as I'd love to try some of the other things they make, especially the tator grenade . . . Sounds deliciously interesting. read more

I was a regular to the food truck and I've tried almost everything they had to offer and to be frank they have phenomenal BBQ, rival of that competition level champions. It's cooked about perfectly every time. The only downside is that some of their items come with non-optional toppings it seems. The brisket comes with a powerful horse-radish sauce which ruins the delicate salty-smokey flavor of the beef entirely - I ordered it twice and both times despite asking no horse radish, they are always coat it in the stuff; it completely ruins my meal. I have to cleanse my meal and it wrecks the tortilla or bread, leaving only a dollop of untainted meat left making me ask "why MUST they put this on their brisket?" Overall, the prices are okay, the service is as fast as you could expect, the quality is great and I would recommend it.. unless you hate horse-raddish like me. read more

For smoked meat there is no smoke flavor to much bread very little meat the mean was very dry

Tasted this BBQ a while ago when we first moved into the area. Very tasty food but the thing is you would never know when and where this food truck is going to be open for bussiness. So, catching them open is always a challenge. Need to tell people when and where they are going to be at, maybe through Facebook or Yelp? read more

Ordered a brisket taco ($4 I believe). Literally got a slice of Brisket on a tortilla.

I have to qualify my 4 star review before I start...I make my own pulled pork and like all of us, I feel mine is the best. That being said, if you are not into the art of smoked meats and are not really sure what a smoke ring is, you need to give Lazy Man a try, you will not be disappointed! This IS 5 star food! The pulled pork was very good, great bark, nice balanced rub...Well Done! As one who is not a fan of cream based Cole slaw, this one was better than most with a nice coarse chop and it didn't taste like I was eating cabbage and mayonnaise which most do. Again, I'm not a fan of sweet BBQ sauces, but Lazy man has hit the mark again...there's a little vinegar bite at the finish. Lazy Man is the cure for boring BBQ like Barret's. If you like real wood smoked BBQ and not BBQ that's made in a steel box with propane...Go see the Lazy Man! read more

The smell of BBQ brought me in. The taste of the meat will keep me coming back for more! Wow Ö wow. Hefty meaty portion.
