Scott absolutely deserves his 5-star ratings. I went to see him recently for the first time after having crippling back and hip pain (like, bad enough to want to vomit) from standing and driving for long periods of time. Scott not only took plenty of time to talk to me to see what I needed from the massage, but he also continued the massage for 15 minutes past my scheduled time to make sure he hit all the spots I had mentioned as must-hit areas. This was honestly one of the best massages I've ever had. Normally, when I have deep tissue massages, my body responds well to the treatment but I am sore and nauseous the next day. I felt like I could move really well right after the massage, and the next day I wasn't sore but still felt great (like I'm sure the Tin Man feels in the Wizard of Oz when he has oils put in his hinges). Scott also gave great suggestions for me to use at home to keep me feeling better in between massages. It is a little odd that the massage room is part of a tattoo parlor, and I could hear noise from there at times, but overall it wasn't super noticeable and it didn't bother me. After my massage therapist location of 5+ years closed down due to COVID-19, I did some research on deep tissue massage and found Lazy Bear. I am so glad I did! I booked an initial 90 minute with Scott and he thoroughly reviewed my medical history/medications/physical ailments and asked great questions to prepare prior to starting the massage. He checked in frequently to ask about pressure and adjusted accordingly. The 90 minutes flew by and along with the perfect amount of pressure he incorporated stretches and educated me along the way. After the session he showed me some stretches I could do at home. The next day he emailed me links to exercises and stretches and checked in to make sure I was happy with my appointment. Tl;dr- Knowledgeable, professional, comfortable space, effective technique, uses quality products, excellent communication. I'm new to Denver, and was looking to establish a consistent massage therapist. I've never been a Massage Envy kind of guy; too corporate. Chose to try Scott at Lazy Bear based on reviews. The space is inside a tattoo shop. Good energy. The massage room is quiet and relaxing. After talking over problem areas, and realizing he knows his stuff, you use a remote to let him know when you're ready to begin. Pretty cool. The massage was great, and you could tell he could figure out what areas needed more attention. I liked the organic lotion that was used, as opposed to an oil, I didn't feel the need to go home and shower off the grease. I had had to reschedule due to snow, and he was great at working out an alternate time. There's an app that makes scheduling a breeze too. Highly recommend if you're looking for a knowledgeable therapist, with a kind vibe. You'll become a regular client, as I plan to do. read more

Scott is fantastic, he listens and really works on what you ask, but has the knowledge to know that when you say "my shoulds are whack" that the problem may be in your legs, and works to really make sure if you have a specific problem it is addressed, but also does well without exact problems, and just general massage. Lazy Bear is amazing. The open communication and no-rush feeling at your appointment is difficult to find nowadays. I just moved here and was looking for my next "go-to" massage therapist. When I met Scott, he was very knowledgeable, had worked with athletes/bodybuilders in the past, and talked with me prior to my massage to ensure we covered all concerns. He took his time, applied the perfect amount of pressure to my liking, and had me feeling like a noodle at the end of our 60-minute session. I get a massage with Scott once every month, and it is the best way to end the day! He is very gentle, but strong at the same time where it's needed. I actually rarely get massages because I generally find them uncomfortable, but I came in with a sore back and Scott was so knowledgeable and professional that I was instantly at ease. I really like that he customizes the massage to you and doesn't do gimmicky things.
