The property itself is probably my favorite part. It's very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by pine trees, with hammocks, tables, chairs, a hot tub, and nice common areas outside. Each cabin also has a grill, and there's a pizza oven available. In good weather, this place is pretty much perfect. You can sit outside under the trees, cook something, relax, and actually enjoy being in the mountains.
The only reason I can't give it five stars is that the outdoor area really isn't prepared for rain. We had rainy weather, and trying to start charcoal while standing in the rain was almost impossible. Even with lighter fluid, the rain kept putting it out. The same problem applies to the pizza oven -- you have everything you need to cook outside, but nowhere to stay dry while doing it.
I think some kind of covered outdoor area would make a huge difference. Even a simple roof where guests could sit and stay dry while the food cooks nearby would help. A larger, higher covered area where you could safely barbecue underneath would be even better.
For a place like this, I think it's especially important. You come to the mountains not just to sit inside a cabin, but to spend time outdoors, cook, eat, and enjoy the nature around you. And since rain is always a possibility in the mountains, it would be great to have a way to still enjoy the outdoor space when the weather changes.
Other than that, we were completely happy with our stay. Beautiful, peaceful place, great little cabin, lots of trees, fresh pine smell, and a very relaxing atmosphere. With a good covered outdoor area for rainy days, this would easily be a five-star stay for me.
