Interior projects involved wall board work, installing crown and chair rail moldings and painting the walls and moldings in the rooms where the carpentry and sheet rock work was done. It's gotten a lot of compliments, but the more important things to me were fair prices compared to other contractors, timely completion and their workers' tidiness in leaving the job site spotless and dust free after each day of work. The major work Cracovia did at my house was replacing degraded exterior siding and wood trim and replacing it with materials they recommended that have the look of real wood but are synthetic and will never rot. Some windows and window sills also had to be replaced. It was a big job both in terms of square footage, and also in having to operate a scaffold to reach the level of upper floors. Their explanation of the cost-benefit of using synthetic materials was clear and reminded me of the way medical doctors evaluate different course of treatment for a medical problem. I liked the fact that the work crew arrived on time in the morning (and not too early to disturb my household or neighbors) and worked until dusk when necessary to keep the job on schedule. The attention to detail was also appreciated, down to making sure that all of the nails that came loose while removing the rotted wood were picked up and disposed of before getting stepped on or causing a flat tire. The quality of the work is highly satisfactory and the price was very fair, and considerably less than other contractors. I definitely will use Cracovia again when the need arises.

Don't touch this company with a ten foot pole especially for a bathroom remodel. The workers only…read morestay until 2-3pm each day, they don't come prepared so there end up being multiple trips and breaks. Because of this the work took longer than quoted I was out of a shower in a single bathroom home for an additional week, paying for a hotel room to shower. I found multiple areas of missing grout that had to be filled in with caulk since the grout had dried. The sink leaked right after instal. The bathtub drain wouldn't close and the worker informed me they didnt think it would close when they installed it but they didnt check or tell me. They had to come back not even a month later to re-caulk the bathtub because it had cracked. The bathtub caulk has cracked again, and i've found cracks in the grout of the floor tiles now. I finally took a bath for the first time and I woke up to a giant wet spot on the ceiling in the room below the bathroom the next morning. Hopefully they can figure it out and fix it but never again will I be using them.

One stand out situation that was handled well was a mix-up in the grout color between wall and floor. To their credit, the installers asked me what the colors should be before going ahead with the install. Good thing they did since the documentation had them swapped. If they had not asked it would have been a disaster; but not because of them. Thanks for confirming. Scope of our project was 2 full baths (new: tile, vanity, counter tops, lighting, mirrors, ventilation fans, shower doors), dinning room (new French Doors), 4 bedrooms (with closets and new ceiling fans), wood flooring (replacing carpet), and crown molding throughout. House age is 27 years. Location: Rockville Town Center. The result was a completed project to our liking on time and within expected budget. Quality of the work is very good. Workers don't smoke, show up on time, are pleasant to work with, sealed off our living space from dust, cleaned up every night, and get the job done with the minimum of disruption. Custom Concepts Construction (CCC) did two major jobs for us in late 2025, mostly involving…read morereplacing wood with James Hardie fiber-cement materials, other carpentry work, and gutters. We are extremely pleased with their work. We chose CCC for three reasons: 1. They are Elite Preferred James Hardie installers who carefully follow the Hardie standards of installation. 2. The co-owners and lead carpenter are experienced with all aspects of residential carpentry, having built homes and additions in the past. 3. The co-owner in charge of sales, Michael Swank, gave authoritative, unpressured advice and presented a masterfully written, detailed proposal with a detailed description and all charges. The price of their proposal was similar to, or lower than, those we received from other exterior contractors. One of our jobs was to replace all wood siding and trim with Hardie siding, trim, and panels on two three-story towers. I expected some difficulties with scaffolding over a stairwell, but the lead carpenter Kerdy and his assistants did the job masterfully, resulting in carefully executed, beautiful results. The second job was to renovate our 100-year-old garage by not only replacing sheathing, siding, and trim but also installing new interior wood beams (rafter ties and collar ties) and additional studs recommended by an engineer to stabilize the sagging garage framing structure. They skillfully manipulated the framing to straighten out the rear garage wall and front central post, which were bowing outward, as well as to straighten out the sagging ridge. During this process they erected temporary support posts inside the garage. We were glad to have hired a team who knew what they were doing with framing as well as exteriors. They also installed a new Pella window and figured out how to do the problematic moving of our shed next to the garage. Their subcontractor competently replaced all of our gutters and downspouts with larger ones. The project manager Daniel Harper, a co-owner of the company, directed the carpenters, handled the logistics of the job, and ensured the high quality of the finished product. We found CCC to be a well-organized and responsive small firm that is easy to communicate with. It was a particular pleasure to interact with Kerdy, the lead carpenter, who always provided clear and polite explanations. Billing was expertly handled by Katherine, who took our credit card payments without charging a fee. In summary, we highly recommend this company for exterior work!
