So incredibly pleased to have met Lindsay this week! I finally had to admit to myself that my "cheaping out" on my hair was causing irreparable damage to it. Since I love to be bleach blonde and also keep my hair long, I needed to start being more mindful of how I am treating it. Sat down in Lindsay's chair yesterday and was forthright with her that my hair had gotten to a really bad point and I needed honest opinions and help to establish a solid plan for repair. She acknowledged my statement and started discussing options. However, she did agree that she would partially highlight my hair to freshen up my roots and give me the cut and treatment I initially requested. A couple hours later, I left her chair with fresh and GORGEOUS hair. I am still catching my reflection in the mirror today and feeling so happy and pleased with the results. The treatment and trim gave it a critical health boost while the highlights and root coverage gave me a confidence boost. It was such a pleasure to meet Lindsay and I am excited to continue to visit her for my haircare. Thanks again!! read more

I bought a Groupon for over $100, only to be told she wouldn't accept it when I called for the appointment. Um, ok, guess I am stuck with the highly coveted Groupon bucks...Thanks Linds. But then to upsell me a glaze at the sink, rather than do the full color touch up that was included in the package...? Or was only included in the unacceptable Groupon deal? Lindsay was nice enough, I guess. She didn't cut my hair crooked or burn me, but I also had a nice ring of dye around my forehead and basically paid double out of pocket. Then she asked for more money to do a less thorough job (rinse in glaze vs pulling the color through the ends, like a professional). Definitely not coming back or recommending this lazy and misleading stylist to anyone I like. read more

Lindsay Johnson is extremely rude, argumentative and unaccommodating and has displayed the poorest level of customer service I have ever personally witnessed. I was referred by my sister sister to Lindsay in hopes that she could do a bayalage on m hair. I'd like to at the outset note that I am positive that this review and post will be met with a long defensive and argumentative comment by Lindsay herself setting forth the various reasons why somehow her customer is in the wrong. It is clear that Lindsay only argues with her unhappy clients and refuses to do whatever she can to make them leave happy, as she argued with me for nearly twelve hours via text message and as further evidenced by her responses to the reviews posted by Shelly M. and Patricia C. She is unwilling to "FIX" work that she herself did for free because she simply wants to take people for all they are worth. However, although I know she will in all likelihood lash out at me, I think it is important for people know that they can go somewhere much better without the fear of being berated and knowing that if for some reason your hair doesn't come out the way it should, your hair stylist will fix it for you. This is not the case with Lindsay. With that being said this is the review: Lindsay tried to bayalage my hair, which was previously dyed red; I knew it would be a bit of an up hill battle to reach the desired color. In knowing that she might not be able to properly bayalage the hair, my sister asked her if it would be safer and easier to simply dye the entire head brown and then work to get to bayalage once the formerly red hair grew out. Lindsay said she would try the bayalage. It came out orange, pink, red, purple, yellow, pretty much every color aside from what it was supposed to. Please see the picture attached to see how atrocious the color is (left before, right after Lindsay's work). The worst part of this story, is that Lindsay allowed me, her customer, to leave looking like this, argued with me and my sister for a combined twenty four hours, refused to takes any responsibility, seemed completely heartless to the fact that I was upset beyond words and didn't care that I had paid $200 for her to color hair that turned out terribly. Similar to the other reviews, she stated that while she could fix it, she wouldn't do it for free, despite, the fact that she had already pocketed $200 and I was in tears. In my sister's nearly 15 years of coloring her hair, she has NEVER even heard of a hair colorist who wouldn't do what they can to make their customers happy when the color comes out wrong. The fact that Lindsay has even tried to defend letting someone leave looking like this, let alone refusing to do anything without being paid an additional $100 is DISGUSTING. Please, whatever you do, DO NOT allow Lindsay to color your hair. If you hair comes out in any way you don't like, too bad--she will do nothing to fix it. She will take no responsibility and instead argue with you about the endless reasons its not her fault. At the end of the day, this is a customer service industry and Lindsay has no customer service skills. read more

The first time I called, Lindsay tried to tell me the Groupon was expired and then proceeded to tell me it'd be very hard to accommodate me and she'd check her schedule. Where do I begin? I will preface this review with two key facts: I have the thickest, coarsest blonde hair that is beyond unruly. The second fact is that I was visiting from Boston when I had her do my hair. I was in need of an overhaul: highlights, brass removal, haircut, and keratin. Anything would have been an improvement on what I walked into my appointment with, but she beyond exceeded the best of the best. First off, she was the friendliest ever. Her professionalism and kindness were only eclipsed by her skill. She got a full idea of what I wanted done, and discussed how we could accomplish it. She knew I needed to cool done my tones to get a cool blonde, so she said we would start with baliage highlights and then do a toner to lighten me up. She was the first hair stylist who actually gave me the amount of highlights I needed with my thick hair, and that is no small feat! She was thorough and got the closest possible to the root. She proceeded to check on me with a level of care I've never had in a salon. Her cut came next, and instead of getting the Rachel from Friends choppy layers I am used to with people inexperienced with my kind of thick hair, I got gorgeous long layers without a flaw. Her keratin process was a breeze too! None of those noxious fumes and she constantly checked to see how I was holding up. Thanks Lindsey! I will have to move back for your services! read more

I really wanted to give Lindsay 5 stars because of how sweet she was and kind to me in the salon, but unfortunately the work she did only deserves 2 stars. I purchased a Groupon with Lindsay for full color with a deep conditioning treatment and a haircut. I was able to text her, which is very convenient, to schedule my appointment and she had the exact day and time I wanted. I arrived with many pictures of the colors and cut that I wanted. She got started right away and even brought me a mimosa, the experience was great. I was hoping for a warm brown/red and a trim with a few light layers. The color was good, slightly more brown than red, but I still left happy with the color. The cut I did not like, the layers are not even on both sides of where I part my hair. The main issue I had was within 3 days, the color completely faded out. As soon as I began styling it the color became lighter and lighter every time. My hair appointment was on a Saturday and by the following Wednesday when I washed it for the first time, the color was completely back to my natural color. I immediately contacted Lindsay hoping she could redo it. I sent a before picture and after, showed her zoomed in pictures of the grey hairs that reemerged once the color faded, sent lots of info of the shampoo and products I had used, etc. Lindsay's response was "I don't know why it would change. The only reason would be if you are not using color safe shampoo or it's not sulfate free." I again sent her more info, and she stopped replying. It is always a risk when using Groupons for beauty which is something you have to expect to an extent. However color should not fade in 3 days, haircuts should be even, and stylist should get back to their clients. For that reason I can only give Lindsay 2 stars and suggest to take your business elsewhere. read more

I had just moved to the area and a friend of mine recommended i see Lindsay for my color and cut. Being reluctant with someone new i decided to give her a try due to the amount of praise my friend gave and her hair looks amazing. Let me just say Lindsay did not disappoint. I like my hair as platinum as can be and it can be a pain to get that. She NAILED IT!!!! The cut was just as i wanted. She was very friendly and welcoming. I went to Lindsay for a red balayage and I was blown away. First off she is the sweetest person and made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. When I first went in we were under a time constraint. So we weren't able to bleach my thick, course, black hair long enough to get a good amount of color out. However, we got a light tint of red in my hair and Lindsay immediately told me to come back without an extra charge and we would work more on it. Once I came back, we were able to get my hair to the exact red I wanted. She also gave me an amazing v-shaped hair cut with long layers. I absolutely love how eager Lindsay was to get my hair just how I wanted it. She took her work extremely seriously but made me feel like I was hanging out with a friend. I would absolutely recommend Lindsay to my friends and will definitely be going back. read more

Great cut. Botched highlights. No ownership. Lindsay said she was concerned to give me a full set of highlights because of the condition of my hair. She suggested she just do some highlights around my face. I told her I would defer to her judgment. She asked if I wanted them light or medium, again I told her I'd defer to her judgement. I told her the health of my hair was important. In the salon after she blew my hair straight it all seemed OK. But when I got into the sunlight I noticed how exceedingly light and yellowish the highlights were. My friends pointed out the heavy demarkation lines where the highlights started. We all felt that it should have blended better and the color was too yellow and light. I sent her a nice text message first thing on Monday morning (she is off on Sundays) saying how I loved the cut but I need her to tone down this brassy/yellow before my interview on Tuesday. She said there was no way she could see me because she was booked solid. (My hairdressing friends in Florida said she just needed to throw a toner on it and it would take a few minutes on the side to do this, hardly taking up any chair time). She then texted back that she could see me the following day but I'd have to pay for the redo! I couldn't believe it, and neither could my friends. She then sent a text defending herself and strangely going on about the condition of my hair (when it was her suggestions to throw in some hightlights around my face). I cannot tell you how many times I told her that day "I defer to your judgment." In the end it wasn't about the condition of my hair at all (highlights fixed by another hair dresser, and hair now looks great). I can't recommend her because she doesn't stand by her work and is defensive. She absolutely should have seen me the next day without charge and, in fact, with an apology. read more

Lindsay is really nice and a good colorist. And she gave me a blow out of my long, thick curly hair which is always a treat. I only gave three stars because when I booked my service online it showed the price. When I went to pay, it was $15 more than what I booked. If I had picked the wrong type of color service I feel like I should have been told this right up front when I checked in. I don't like to be surprised at check out. I am and will be a returning customer. Lindsay did an awesome job with two keratin treatments over the past year, and I went in for a balayage earlier this month and wanted to leave a review of her work overall. Working with Lindsay has always been a pleasure; she is attentive, super professional, and you always leave feeling ultra pampered and glamorous. This was the first time I worked with Lindsay for a color treatment. My hair was in relatively good condition although I did have some residue box-dye on the mid-sections/ends. I wanted something a little lighter than my natural dark brown, and we achieved the color I was looking for. It did need a little trial and error as my hair pulled red (dark brown often does). It took a couple rounds of toner to get the color I initially wanted (she wrote down the exact formula we used so we can go back to that next time), but I feel that is normal as this was her first time color-treating my hair. I will go back for another balayage some time this year... I actually think it will take a few rounds of bleach + toner to get the desired result as my hair is very dark brown and I'm not in a hurry as I don't want to damage it by repeated bleaching. I would definitely recommend Lindsay, and honestly - after reading some of the reviews below - I would just say that if you're not 100% convinced about the result just speak-up instead of leaving a negative review - she was very happy to tone my hair a second time free of charge, making sure I left the salon feeling and looking great! :-) read more
