I like how i got my own little meat smoker. I didn't even use a filter on the food, yet the colors pop. The service was good. The restaurant was well designed. The ambiance was great.

Showed up here on a random weekend night and there was barely any people here. Which is disappointing because the food was excellent! Went with a couple friends so we ordered a good number of dishes to try as much as we could. The wait staff were super nice and helpful. They gave suggestions on what to try to get for a good variety and all were hits. Everything was fresh and delicious, couldn't have asked for better. They checked on us frequently to make sure everything came out perfect. Had tea and pastries afterwards and had a delightful time. They didn't rush us at all like many places would. Definitely recommend this place to everyone and for sure will be coming back.

Food was excellent but very pricey. I was hoping to hit the buffet but paid 21.99 for kabobs & rice. I was confused at menu working because for that price I thought I'd be getting 2 sides. After trying to clarify side confusion, it was like they didn't want to serve me. No drink refill & took forever to get my check paid. Definitely disappointed by my experience here.

There is no doubt this is one of the best restaurants I've been to. If you read my reviews, you can find out that I always try to be precise in my descriptions and I am not afraid to point out what was done poorly. I could find nothing wrong. This is a destination restaurant. If you are passing through on I-24, take the detour for this place. If you are within a day trip's drive, include this on your itinerary. I will outline my family's reactions to the food, my experience with service, the ambiance and value. This is a long read - hang in there. Once my family entered an Indian restaurant and the fresh spices were so enticing we just had to order. When I came to Layali, the wonderful cooking aromas were noticeable in the PARKING LOT. The first thing my server asked was that if I wanted Lentil Soup. I mentioned that I did not see it on the menu and she said it was free. OK! My wife frequently makes lentil soup at home, but this was so smooth, there were no visible individual lentils and it was wonderfully seasoned. See my photo that demonstrates how well it coated the back of the spoon and how smooth it was. Pita bread is a common accoutrements in many cultures but these were different. Much thinner that most, it told me these were hand made and not bought from a distributor. While it did not have a unique taste, the mouth feel and delicacy were refreshing. "Eggplant" could be my wife's middle name. She could eat it three times a day. We have made our own Baba Ghanoush so I just had to bring some home for her to tray. Smoother than most of what she has enjoyed it was well balanced. Sumac stripes made it look pretty. Most of what she liked in the balance was due to the fact that others have so much garlic or smokiness, it overpowers the blend/ Since it was lunch, I just wanted an appetizer and the Layali Dubai Fries caught my eye. See the photo that shows the the portion size relative to the cutlery. Wonderful fries were topped with a choice of chicken or beef shawarma. I got the chicken and my son, wife and I found it perfectly cooked and properly seasoned. I'm running out of words to explain good balanced seasoning, but that all applies to the fries which were fluffy inside with a nice firm outer that held its shape. Every employee I met was extremely gracious and appreciative. Their smiles transferred to my face as I left. Posters drew my attention to a stage where they have live music every Saturday. Formerly, this building was an Asian restaurant, but has been completely renovated. All of the cozy room dividers and dark wood have been taken out, giving the place a great, bright and airy feeling. Simple tables are spread about giving both privacy and intimacy. Some restaurants like this have a hookah bar or room. This place does not, so you avoid that haze. Belly dancers MIGHT appear in the distant future. Table settings are elegant, but not overdone. A few patrons commented to the staff that the food was very good and VERY plentiful. Here is my input on the value. For $25, I had a sufficient portion of the fries and still took home over 2/3 of the serving to share. I had a few piece of pita and brought home a full clam shell container. Also, the Bab Ghanoush must have weighed over a pound. My wife enjoyed it and there is still plenty in the refrigerator. As I said in my introductory comments, I rarely rave about a restaurant. Reputation means nothing to me. The food, service, ambiance and value make this a go-to restaurant, as well as a go-back-to.

Yelp shows it as closest 6 on a Saturday night, but it is open. Service was great and the food was delicious and the servings are plentiful! They have a guy playing 70's music- which is both cute and a little cheesy, but we enjoyed it. I ate the soup before I thought to take a picture

They brought us water and warm flatbread with labneh. It was a great way to start the evening. Our server recommended the lamb dumplings and the chicken kabob. We ordered that plus the Uzbek bread and a lamb sambosa. The sambosa was delicious; flaky dough and minced well spiced lamb. The chicken kabob was delectable; tender, well spiced, and served with sumac onions and other accompaniments. The lamb dumplings (think big manti or momos) were fantastic; again, well spiced lamb and tender dough, served with a really lovely yogurt sauce. Service was fast and friendly. We paid about $80 Inc tip for this feast. Highly recommended; give Uzbek food a try!

There is a secret however, that few would ever reveal: Nashville has some seriously solid authentic Uzbek food. As the city is home to the largest Kurdish population in America, the foundation of community attracted not only Kurds, but also Uzbeks from larger American cities. Osh is one such outpost for an excellent and authentic meal. Shurpa soup is spectacular with delicate lamb and fatty broth. Manti are ok, although the lamb filling is a bit on the dry side. Somsa is incredible and flaky. Medovik is subpar, synthetic tasting and dry. While not every dish was the highlight of culinary mastery, as a whole, the meal was very satisfying. The kind people working here make the establishment amazing, attentive and kind to give great suggestions. So, for something authentic and tasty, make a trip to this random strip mall and enjoy a family restaurant that adds a cool character to Nashville's community.

I know my way around Greek and Persian restaurants and was excited to try out the foods. We ordered Classic Gyros, fries, Greek salad, Eggplant Stew (Khoresh Bademjan), and Chicken Kabob (Kabob Koobideh Morgh) at the counter. The man behind the counter was curt with customers. He had a regular that he told to sit down when the man came inside for his to go order. I say regular because when his to go order was ready they chatted for a few minutes about personal business. The restaurant was not full when we arrived. There were 5 customers waiting for food when we placed our to go order. 45 minutes later when we left there were 4 customers waiting for food. I noticed an employee walk to the restrooms with a phone in hand. Phones aren't sterile and coming back from the restroom the employee was on the phone. I couldn't see from my vantage point whether employees were wearing gloves. The man who took orders handled credit cards and money and then touched drink cups by the rim. I am sure this happens all the time. I don't see employees with phones and the person taking orders and handling money most of the time so when I see hands touching money or cards and then the drink cup rims my brain says to ask for a clean cup. We did not order drinks to go. Now to the food. Gyros and fries were ok. The pitas weren't toasted so the tzatziki sauce made the pitas squishy. I could not taste the gyro meat as the portion was small. The Greek Salad and dressing was average. Eggplant stew with rice and salad was good and had more cinnamon than I am accustomed to. The chicken kabob came with basmati rice and salad and it was good. This restaurant is between Huntsville and Ardmore. They serve a variety of foods and have a loyal following. We will stop by again to try out other foods. It could have been an off day. For the money the portion sizes are small. If there were more meat in the gyros and more salad in the to go box I would have considered another star.
