As you may have gleaned from my previous reviews on grooming places and salons, I am not one to fuss over my look. In fact, I don't care much about beauty and grooming regimens, that's why my list of Yelp reviews don't include much of these places, aside from the barber shops that I usually frequent. Given that I don't really preen much, I surprised myself one time by letting my best friend talk me into trying out an eyebrow threading.
Though most of my friends say that they like my thick and bushy eyebrows, they can sometimes get out of control and that time, I agreed that I needed to do something about my unibrow. She booked a waxing session, and hooked me up with her favorite eyebrow stylist at this Lay Bare branch. I should say that I have never tried any eyebrow treatments before, and nothing, and I mean NOTHING prepared me for the sheer torture and pain of getting my eyebrows threaded. I'd rather get another tattoo than go through that pain again. It is an intense hybrid of wanting to pee so bad, and having the skin peeled off from my forehead. My eyebrows definitely looked neater, but it felt so raw and painful despite the ate giving me lots of chances to catch my breath. She was very gentle, and she tried very hard not to laugh and take my curses personally. I was a screaming and yelping baby, and I seriously don't understand how girls can put themselves into that kind of pain. Tiis ganda? No, thanks. I'd rather stay ugly. Still, not a lot of guys could say that they have had their eyebrows threaded at some point.
I'm not a particularly hairy person, and I'm glad it takes forever for my unibrow to grow. I actually resorted to just shaving it off with a razor. read more
