I just want to get in, get my cold medicine and tampons, and get out, so I've been avoiding the confusing labyrinths of the megastores. I like this Shoppers because even though it's a larger one, it's more medical than makeup. It does have a small section with basic food items, so I can at least stock up on chocolate when the PMS cravings hit. Plus, it has a blood clinic most mornings, on several convenient bus routes. If you can't get an appointment, though, I recommend going in very early to get your blood drawn, because there's usually a small line waiting outside before the clinic opens. To note: Like all Shoppers locations, they sell bus tickets and passes.

On the first floor you'll find the huge cosmetics section (my personal fave), cleaning supplies, cashiers and the grocery section. If you're looking for cosmetics this is the best place to come for huge selection - they have a huge beauty boutique (Chanel! Urban Decay! Clinique!) and a good amount of affordable cosmetics too. Their NYX section is pretty great, though I still find myself popping between here and Lawton's as their stock varies quite a bit between the two. Upstairs you will find the pharmacy, seasonal goodies (mmm chocolates), hair care, cold and flu medications - the rest of the things you'd expect to find in a drugstore. This pharmacy is the best one I've ever been to - the staff are very helpful and caring, they explain anything you may need to know and I never feel rushed if I have questions.

The team seemed somewhat perturbed to have people shopping in the store in what is a major tourist area. However, the pharmacy folks were incredibly impatient and rude today. These can be important questions when taking a medication, and we were talked down to and dismissed. I'd be impressed by the amount of contempt thrown our way in a 30 second interaction if it wasn't so incredibly frustrating. Honestly, there are several other pharmacies nearly.
