Frantically, I searched for a doctor who would see me. I called Dr. Palta's office and to my surprise I reached the doctor's cellphone. She had forwarded calls to her personal phone. She answered the phone and calmed me down. She opened the clinic the next day on a Saturday just for me. I went in, wearing a mask for the first time. She didn't blow me off because of the lockdown. I had a history of miscarriage due to low progesterone and was afraid I would lose the pregnancy without medical care. Dr. Palta was a warm, loving auntie the whole time. Even though the rules at the time didn't allow anyone to accompany you to doctor's appointments, she cleared the office and let my family come in with me because my instinct told me that this wasn't a normal pregnancy.
