This is a repost of a review that I wrote last year, with a few edits for updates. The reason for…read morethe repost is that this business has recently changed its name, so I wanted to help by leaving my review under the new business name: I received 4 massages from Joe last year (2021). I felt comfortable around him right away, which helped me to relax. One thing that I definitely noticed is that there was very little chit chat during the first massage. Just a little brief chit chat here and there. I appreciated that not only because Joe wasn't too chatty (he and I did chat a little bit here and there, though, which was nice), but because I have received massage from over 70 massage therapists in the Seattle area over the past 20 years, and there are very few therapists that I feel comfortable enough with during the FIRST session to not feel at all compelled to chat with the therapist quite a bit during my massage. I usually want to know who is massaging me! I get curious about the person!! Haha. I can honestly say I've never received massages quite like the massages that I received from Joe. I enjoyed some interesting stretches, some neck work that felt very needed, and some great mid-to-low-back bodywork. Part of my Deep Lomi Style massage was done with me positioned side-lying - my favorite position in which to receive massage. I had checked in advance with Joe via e-mail about his safety procedures, and they're sound. He was able to leave the window open (at my request) during my massages, and he had an air purifier going also. He wore a mask for the entire duration of the intakes, the massages, and the check-outs. The music was soft, not too loud or intrusive, and it provided a lovely background noise. The lighting was perfect for me, I prefer the lighting to be slightly darker in the massage room since it's more relaxing for me that way. Joe checked in about the level of pressure, and he was very open and responsive to my feedback - which he strongly encouraged me to give - about level of pressure, position of my body and head on the table, preference for bolstering, any areas to avoid or go lightly on, type of oil used, and anything else that made the massage experience truly special. I felt that Joe went above and beyond to make sure that I felt cared for and attended to. Usually when I review a massage therapist here on yelp, I explain that I graduated from Port Townsend School of Massage in 2016 - however, I have never practiced massage professionally, since my life ended up going in a different direction at that time. So, I know a bit more about massage therapy than someone who doesn't have this particular educational background. I enjoyed my massages with Massage Reimagined Magnolia, I would receive massage from Joe again, and I would highly recommend this business to anyone who wants a truly unique and special massage experience.

Unfortunately she moved so I've been looking for a really quality massage. I think I've found the therapist and facility.

I was in a car accident around 9 months earlier, and since then I've been suffering the after…read moreeffects of the trauma. It's been a miserable time with the back pain, neck pain, and increasing frequency in migraines. I came here after having gone to a different massage therapy place for 3 months and saw no improvement. I took a break, and then decided to find another massage therapist. I ended up trying Maureen out because she takes my health insurance, and OMG I cannot believe my phenomenal luck in crossing paths with her. She is hands down the best massage therapist I've ever encountered. She's absolutely amazing because she can really feel your body and knows precisely where every part of your body is: every muscle, ligament, attachment, trigger points, everything. I'm not just speaking of knowledge of the anatomy, which she obviously has, but that her hands are sensitive enough to actually feel where every piece is, identify the issues, and work at just the right amount of pressure to begin correcting problems. I've been to many massage therapists who ended up hurting me because they couldn't actually feel my body and just applied cookie cutter techniques. Sometimes they even massaged my bones--why, I have no idea. I'm just lucky that they didn't inflict permanent damage with what they did. With Maureen, there's none of that sort of frustration to deal with. From the very beginning, she does a very comprehensive evaluation instead of just diving into a massage like every other place I've been to. Every following massage I've had with her has proven that she is truly talented at her work. To top it all off, she's got a super down-to-earth personality and is genuinely caring. I trust her with my care 100%. Her massage for me is corrective, so just understand that I'm not describing something like what you'd find at a spa for a relaxing girl's day out. It's only been about about a month and half since I started seeing her, but I am feeling so much better that I'm actually surprised. My migraines have finally started to decrease, so I'm super relieved. Maureen also has certifications displayed on the wall that show she's pursued education beyond the norm I've seen for most other massage therapists, in areas such as athletic training and sports therapy. Overall, she's the perfect package!

Mollie provides one of the best massage experiences I've had. Being a wimp and somewhat anemic, I bruise rather easily. Some massage therapists I've tried have a rather brutal approach to loosening muscles and lean to heavily on their elbows. Mollie uses a gentle, circular motion that relaxes me completely and still works deeply into my clenched muscles. I always feel a couple of inches taller when she's finished. Her studio is right in the heart of downtown Edmonds, less than a block from one of my favorite coffee shops - Walnut Street Coffee (a great place to continue a relaxing afternoon). The loft space she uses is decorated like a beach cottage, and with the soothing music and just a touch of clean fragrance - I feel transported to an ocean resort. I appreciate that Mollie doesn't use overly strong scents in her oil/lotions, but just enough to clear the head. You won't regret spending an hour with these healing hands!
