I've had many massages, but the one I just had from Mr. Amburgy was the best ever! Excellent and professional.

In long 7 months ago, my lovely bride had a massive stroke, and we're still working to get her mobility back to where it needs to be. After so many lifeless months, anything to get her muscles moving (even if someone else does it) helps. We've been having trouble finding massage places that accept her insurance, at least for their massage therapists (it's often the chiropractor who takes it). We decided that since the prices AND the rating here were so good, we would pay out of pocket for one and see how it goes. It's not a new building, and even the parking lot itself feels kinda worse for wear. Inside, this place is quiet and dim. Very relaxing, as advertised. Some twinkling rope lights around the acoustic sub-ceiling. There's a squishy old couch in the waiting room, and some worn wall-to-wall underfoot. The private rooms are small, and there's slow soft piano music everywhere. Lights are low everywhere. We got her set up on a table under a sheet and Leia (I hope I spelled her name correctly) went to work. She had no special training in dealing with folks with neurological problems, but knew a million ways to move joints and get flexibility and movement back. We added the hot stone massage for her feet, so she spent 120 minutes on the table. By the end she was pure jelly, just happily smiling at the ceiling. With the extra half-hour, tax, and tip, it was about $180, which is twice what I expected to spend, but it was so worth it. Driving home, she had movement in her shoulder and hand that has not been there in 7 months. Pretty amazing. She's been getting tension headaches off and on for over a week now, too, and her neck and shoulders released all of that pressure. Her hair looked quite amusing, too. :-) In fact, the place is so good she wants to keep it to herself, and thought about asking me not to review it, because it has to be 5 stars, and she doesn't want it to get overbooked. I pointed out that she might not be the only one who needed massage for more than simple relaxation, though, and she immediately said we had to get the word out.

The owner Chad Triplett is a great therapist, as are all of his staff, Shannon, Kate and Cathy. I have been going for therapeutic massage for about three years now and have found them to be highly effective. During that time I have had rotator cuff surgery, neck surgery and back surgery. The therapeutic massage had enhanced healing and daily comfort. Fred R. Mill Creek, WA

If that's what you're looking for, don't go here. But if you don't need pampering, this place is just fine. I had a great massage here. Brandon was recommended to me, and he did a really good job of tailoring the massage to my needs. I told him that I carry a lot of stress in my neck and shoulders, so I wanted more focus there, but I still wanted a full body massage. That's exactly what he did for me. He didn't talk during the massage except to ask how the pressure was (which is great - I hate when massage therapists talk to you throughout the whole session about anything unrelated to the massage.) I have absolutely no complaints about the massage. The music that was playing during the session was a little too lively for my taste. I would loved it if I were listening to it during dinner, but during a massage, I like listening to soft music. My only *complaint* is that the receptionist didn't mention that the location was a little hard to find. I arrived late because I missed the sign for their driveway and so I got a 50 minute rather than a 60 minute massage at the regular cost of a 60 minute massage. It's what I expected considering it was my own fault that I was late since I got lost. However, since the receptionist mentioned that I wasn't the only one who usually missed the sign, I would have appreciated a forewarning so I could've given myself extra time to get there and thus be on time and get my full 60 minutes of relaxation. I would definitely come back here for a massage with brandon if I wasn't in the mood for a spa (which does happen every now and then).
