Made a visit to Warrior Massages last week for an incredibly sore shoulder. It was my first massage there, and I took advantage of the reduced pricing offer for a first visit. Jesse did an excellent job understanding the issue and then methodically massaging the arm into submission. He traced the tightness from all angles, and my shoulder has been much better ever since. I came here last weekend since my current massage place has really been letting me down lately. I had a massage with Jesse which was good and I enjoyed that part. I am only giving my review 3 stars and probably wont return because the walls are paper thin, seriously. When you close your eyes its like there are no walls at all. There were people talking and laughing LOUDLY throughout my whole massage hour. It was very difficult to relax. I purposely schedule my massages for early in the morning on weekends so I can start my day off right with QUIET and relaxation. This was not the case. Secondly it was freezing in there. Started going to Jesse several months ago after experiencing significant pain in my arms and shoulders. I found a new customers deal on Groupon and decided to try out. I'm really glad I did and have been back several times since. Jesse made me feel very comfortable about getting my first massage and really did a fantastic job. Warrior Massage is not a spa. I didn't want a spa-like experience, so this was perfect! Don't misunderstand, it's a very comfortable room...but if your looking for the pampered spa treatment you should probably look elsewhere. If your looking for pain relief, this is your guy! Finally, and I know this may be odd to some people, but I LOVE Jesse's no tipping policy. Tipping bugs me as I never know exactly how much is appropriate. Jesse takes that worry out of the equation. As he puts it on his website, "you don't tip your doctor, do you?". I've been going to Jesse for almost a year now, at least 1-2x a month on a recurring schedule. He's got firm hands and provides very therapeutic massages to those achy spots in my back, built up from an ergonomically haphazardous profession. He is friendly and very professional, and that's not an oxymoron. His rates are very reasonable as well. I have mixed feelings about my massage here. On one hand, I felt pretty darn good the day after my massage, which is a sign that my muscles relaxed a bit. On the other hand, the massage itself was supposed to be deep tissue and it felt more like shiatsu--too little pressure. But, for whatever reason, I didn't tell the dude to press harder. On the other hand, he didn't ask, which I believe should be part of any massage therapist's protocol. Second, I will note that I showed up about 5 minutes late, and then he gave me a long form to fill out, which took another 5 minutes, and then he took his time to get into the room, so I really had a 45-minute massage instead of 60. Granted, any place makes you fill something out, so it's good to factor that in, but the best places will send you the form in advance or warn you to arrive early. Plus, if they have no customers after you, they won't shun the thought of actually massaging you a few extra minutes. Bottom line: He didn't do anything terribly wrong as a massage therapist, but he can definitely make improvements that will bring the quality of his massage and customer service up to the ranks of the best out there. read more

A few things to know: - The building is in the Meitzner Plaza; look for a red sign. If you turn onto Airport Road from Evergreen Way, it'll be on your right. - I was a little apprehensive when I saw that the building had hours posted on the door saying it closed at 5, because my appointment was at 5:45 -- the door was not locked though, and was actually still unlocked when I left my massage an hour later. - Warrior Massage shares a suite with Puget Sound Massage. If you go in the evening like I did, there may not be someone in the reception area; you can just take a seat until Jesse comes back out. - Jesse does not accept tips. - There was a short form for new clients to fill out, so I'd recommend getting there just a couple minutes early. You can also download the form from his website. - You can schedule online through google calendar. The massage room was a little brighter than I'm used to. The shades were up and the window was cracked, but I eventually found myself enjoying the fresh air. Jesse asked if I had a music preference, which was nice. This was the best I've had in a long time. Jesse was very professional and friendly. The man who had a massage right before me thanked Jesse for the good conversation, and I thought "oh great, a talker!" (I prefer to relax and not chat during my massages.) I needn't have worried -- Jesse checked in once about my pressure preferences but allowed me to enjoy the quiet the rest of the time. As far as I'm aware, he doesn't incorporate aromatherapy or scented oils. Unlike most places I've gotten massages, this one lasted a full 60 minutes -- not 50. I will absolutely return again and I recommend giving Jesse a try, even if you're timid about trying deep-tissue. I'm pretty particular about my massages, and Jesse is my new favorite. read more
