I dreaded it for DAYS but when the moment finally came, I was stressed out yes, but the staff were super nice and friendly and I was eligible for gas which lessened my anxiety by A LOT. Also they always kept me in the loop as to what they were doing and I was never belittled or made to feel like I was an awful person (I am super self-conscious about my teeth) and they actually made a plan with me for future appointments. 100/10, the best dental experience I've ever had and they are GREAT with dental anxiety. Will definitely be going back. My only critique is the office in Lawrence is a liiiiittle difficult to spot if you don't know what you're looking for. But I'd say it's worth it.

I have been very fortunate to have healthy teeth although I have worn dental braces for a number of years, as a child as the alignment of my teeth was extremely bad and would have led to losing my teeth at an early age and having to wear dentures. I wore braces and had orthodontic treatment since grade 1 through me telling the dr. (While in college) Um, you have to get these off by a certain date as I'm getting married and moving to a different city, I won't be back- wind this up and finish. And then again as an adult (to correct what the original orthodontist did as a child). To say that I was extremely nervous was an understatement given my orthodontic care as a child. They probably didn't realize the extent of my fear but I did say that I was nervous. They all kept me informed about what to do and what the next step was of the treatment and what would happen. They were all AWESOME!! Needless to say, if you are looking for a dentist, GO to this office for your regular dental care. I've been in for cleanings/x-rays as well as to get some cavities filed (the first and only time I've had cavities filled as an adult). The staff is friendly and efficient, I never have to wait long. They have a TV set up so you can watch something while they mess with your mouth. A nice perk, but unfortunately daytime TV lacks in content!! I also really appreciate that they DON'T chit chat with you while doing a cleaning. There is nothing more annoying at the dentist than having someone ask you questions that you can only respond to with an "AHHNNG YAHHHD". My barometer for dentists is whether or not they tell me I need my wisdom teeth out. I have all four and they fit in my mouth just fine. In the past, some dentists have told me that I should "preemptively" remove them which seems like a scam to me. But Drs. V and J asked if I wanted them out and when I said "no" they said that there is no reason to unless I wanted them out. I appreciate that honesty! They do things electronically, which I prefer. You can book your appointment online and they email you reminders. They also emailed me copies of my x-rays after I had them done (I asked for them), I like to know what I look like inside! My only complaint is that once one of the dental assistants (I don't remember her name) told me I should remove my wisdom teeth because she hates cleaning them. A completely unacceptable and unprofessional thing to say, right? But the dentists disagree, so it doesn't matter.

Blaming your insurance and arranging in house charges to collect for covered services!…read more Delayed claims billing / In house charges. Cancer screening scam. Billing office misreports insurance statuses to patients to confuse them after suggesting "free" additional screening. (Insurance jargon is non billable code 0170- no one is to be billed for this) They lie about this and obscure transparancy. If your insurance recieved the same claim and Kelly Farmer's office indicates it was "denied" you should also contact the Kansas Dental Board to add complaints to protect other patients. Kelly Farmer's billing office practiced filing services differently than how they submitted claims to our insurance they were misinforming us on purpose and charging despite assurance from their own mouths they shouldn't have been, ridiculous- So where is the refund, again and again the run around, blaming insurance for their dishonesty- no fun! We switched to River Rock Family Dental, by QT they get us in fast and always submit our claims properly. The in office communications is transparent. I switched in 2019, my wife is changing this year after the same deception. Not paying $117 each visit for insurance covered preventive covered care, good luck in the tough economy Kelly, but our trust should not have made us targets.
