I'm recovering from surgery and physically unable to handle the lawn myself. With weeds getting out of control, I was depending on them to follow through , especially since we're at risk of a visit from code enforcement. After they received our payment, Big Ed's completely disappeared. No job done. No refund. No responses to multiple follow-ups. This is not just unprofessional; this is a scam. They took the money and vanished. Do not trust this business with your time or money. Avoid at all costs.

They plan 20 minutes for a full home weeding of landscaping bed job that they walked the property to quote out? Not to mention my Ring doorbell sent me an alert when it picked up the crew walking the job after it was "done" saying "that looks like sh*t" and shrugging and walking off the job. Icing the cake is the fact that they damaged my sidewalk, failed to return to fix it for 2 weeks and left it still marked from their mower stating they think the rain will get it eventually & they shattered my landscape lighting. They don't communicate, they showed up unscheduled and without contacting me first and in other instances, skipped portions of the job altogether(like a lawn mowing on 9/8 that wasn't done) All this and the owner says he considers the matter to be resolved as is without financially offsetting that I need to rent a pressure washer to remove the stains they left on the sidewalk and replace my lights

This is not a lawn company, just a broker…read more I sent a yelp quote request to a different business, but I hadn't done something like this before and didn't realize that yelp sends the quote info to multiple businesses in the same category. This business, which is not the one I was directly interested in, replied to my quote immediately via email. The response repeated some of the information I gave in the quote request, assured me they would be the right people for the job, and asked me to call the number listed on the page here. Despite the one-star rating, I decided to give it a chance and see what happened. When I gave them a call, a man answered the phone and gave the company name he worked for, which was not Shadyside Lawn Services. I didn't quite catch the name, and should have asked the man on the other end to repeat it if I'd had any presence of mind, but instead I asked him if they were the same business as Shadyside Lawn Services, already in doubt. He told me that he could get me in contact with "a lawn service" if that's what I needed, but that the business he worked at was not a lawn service in and of itself. It was difficult to bring the conversation to an end and hang up after trying to explain that I must have gotten a wrong number or made a mistake, but he wasn't impolite or rude, just persistent.

Holten came out and I explained what was going on with the basement bathroom. We walked around talking about different way to figure out what was causing the smell and he "I'm going to just walk around and check things out" within 1 minute he yelled out "found it". Under the sink in the bathroom and vent check valve was missing. The contractor plumber never installed it when the house was built 2 years ago. He said he could fix it right now and gave a very reasonable price. I said go ahead and within 30 minutes he had fixed a problem I had been dealing with for the last two years. He was very knowledgeable and even found a pipe that was not glued when he was installing the valve and fixed that as well I would highly recommend this business for their expertise and value for what they do. I added them in my phone as the first business to call for my plumbing needs.
