We needed an extensive clean-up and redesign of a low-maintenance pollinator garden. Within the next month, she had developed a custom design for our house and we were very impressed during her presentation. Patrizia puts together a wonderful packet of information with photos of all of the plants that she is choosing for you, which is great for a garden newb like me! We quickly put down a deposit and got on the waitlist for her team to install the plants. Initially we were told that we were scheduled for June, but were warned it was hard to guess - which I understand given the nature of the work. I checked in again on May 26th and was told another 5-6 weeks. They ended up beginning the work on July 18th. Not long after they had finished up, we had noticed that one specific type of tree they had planted throughout the perimeter of our yard was dying. We were told that we needed to water them more. At this point, we were already watering them extensively multiple times a day but stepped up our efforts. It also wasn't long before weeds were popping up in our garden and this was requiring daily maintenance while still not keeping on top of it, which is something we definitely didn't want. In September, I reached out again to request them to come by for fall maintenance. When doing our final walk-through after installation, this is the timeframe when Patrizia had told me to reach out... but in her response to my email, she said it was too early to schedule fall maintenance. I asked when would be a good time to schedule and did not hear back. My husband emailed in December expressing disappointment that now, most of the trees they had planted were dying (value $960) and we had never heard back about scheduling fall maintenance. We had another landscaping company come look and they were surprised that Gardenalia did not put down any newspaper or cardboard to suppress weeds. The other company also pointed out several plants that were not fully planted and had exposed rootballs. We did receive an apology from Gardenalia for not responding to our emails in the fall but overall, didn't feel like they appropriately addressed the other concerns we brought up. In their response, they said that paper mulch to suppress weeds would have been a "waste of money" - but just weeks after installation, I began spending hours daily weeding without being able to get on top of it. We did not reply and decided to go with another landscaper's services for maintenance in the spring. In April, we heard from Gardenalia again - they were offering to come by and weed/clean up our yard for free. This was a very nice gesture from them but by now, we had started working with the other landscaping company. A good portion of the plants/trees that Gardenalia had installed, as well as a butterfly bush that had been thriving on our property for years and had been transplanted, did not make it through to this year. Our new landscapers explained this was likely due to being planted or transplanted during such a hot time of year. I wish Gardenalia had explained this as a risk to us as all of the work was very expensive and we would have waited until the next year. This means a greater expense for us this year as we had to pay for extensive weed removal, lay down cardboard to suppress the weeds, and replace the plants and trees that have died. In summary, I do believe Patrizia has a passion and a wonderful eye for landscape design and she was mostly professional and kind in my interactions with her. The garden was very beautiful before the weeds became too much to deal with. I was less impressed with the maintenance team and the work that they did with the installation or in responding to our questions and concerns, especially for how much we spent on the project (over $12k!). I do appreciate that they tried to make it right in the end but did not feel confident that the quality of the work would be what we wanted. For what it's worth, we have not had any issue with weeds popping up since having the other landscaping company put cardboard down.

He came and gave us a quote that day and beat the competitors by a significant margin. The crew was very professional and took time to clean up the yard and driveway after they were done. We love our new sidewalk! They will be our first call next time we need work done.
