I purchased a $100 gift card for a 60-minute massage for my husband. His appointment was scheduled for 10:00 a.m., and he was back in his vehicle and leaving by 11:00 a.m. At the time, there was a special advertised for new customers: $79.95 for a 60-minute massage. However, when you factor in the approximately 10 minutes at the beginning for undressing and preparation, and another 15 minutes at the end for getting dressed, the actual hands-on massage time appears to have been closer to 35 minutes, not 60. Additionally, when my husband was asked which areas needed the most attention, he specifically requested focus on his neck and shoulders. Unfortunately, he felt that the therapist spent the majority of the session working on other areas instead of addressing the areas he identified as problematic. Advertising a special for a 60-minute massage when the actual massage time is significantly shorter feels misleading and makes the promotion much less of a value than it appears. Based on this experience, my husband has no interest in returning, as he was very disappointed with the service and felt it did not meet his expectations. read more

Had a 3:45 appointment for a 1-hour massage. Masseuse pulls me back at 3:50, starts the massage at a couple mins to 4 and finishes at 4:40. Cold hands and talking through the entire massage didnt help. Have a couple stars because of nice establishment and front desk staff. read more

Had a great massage here the other day. I had a groupon coupon. The atmosphere was nice. I do wish that spas in this area offered steam rooms and jacuzzis but, as with other area spas, this one did not. I don't like a deep, hard pressure massage and I told the therapist this. Often a therapist will ignore this. But she actually paid attention and gave me the perfect amount of pressure. I asked her to focus on legs and feet and she totally did. Great massage!! read more

After 2 years of being members we quit the program. It seems they cant keep good massage therapists. They have 2 so you can NEVER get an appointment. Its not because they are a great place and stays booked...its because they cant get or keep good help. Hopefully with new salons opening people will realize what a mess it is there. read more

Today i had a terrible massage. My massage therapist was changed to the one person i do not like thrre and I was not even contacted to let me know of the change. If I had been I would have cancelled. Terrible customer service.... however my wife had her regular massage therapist and enjoyed hers... not happy with Lavida today..... read more

I was in town and decided to call around for a spontaneous massage. I'm so glad lavida was able to accommodate me last minute. The receptionists were very sweet. The environmental was relaxing from the moment I walk in. I got scheduled with Ted. He did a thorough consultation and gave great advice for maintenance at home. Really showed he cared and knew a lot about his job. It was the most relaxing massage ever had. Addressed all of my problem areas. Would highly recommend and when I am back in the area will be seeing Ted again. read more

8/28/15 I went into the room at 2:30pm (I am familiar with how massage works as I have been getting weekly massages for years). There was a 5 minutes discussion about what kind of massage I wanted, what hurt, etc, very nice thought she really cared about giving me a good massage. After that she left the room for what felt like a long time maybe 10 minutes. When she came back in, I asked her if she had a pillow that I could put under my chest because it is painful for me to lay flat on my breast, and a pillow always solves the problem. I TOLD HER "IT HURT" and "IT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE" she Said "for what?? like in the 4 years she has been massaging people no woman with large breast laying on her stomach has ever asked her for a pillow to put under them" I said, "you never get this complaint?" she says, "its only my second day working here and I really don't know to go look for a pillow it will take time away from your massage." after the long wait I just had waiting for her to come back to the room I didn't want her to leave again so I just laid there uncomfortable and she commented on my guarded position arms in a push up type position to relieve some of the pressure on my chest. She talked the entire time (which I don't mind) but every time she talked she stopped massaging. Seemed like no time at all went by and she said it was over and left the room again. I got dressed, she was waiting outside with a cup of water, we stood in the hallway while I drank the water and talked a few more minutes. When she took me to the lobby it was only 3:15pm. I complained to the manager and the manager refused to give me a full refund because she said she had to talk to the owner. she asked me to pay for the massage and said she would refund me later. Initially I liked the ease of scheduling, although it was hard to schedule for an hour and a half. The massages were good. But, just in three months I had two massages they cancelled. One was due to the masseuse having the flu - which was very acceptable, as I told the person who called to cancel. But, as I told the caller, I was unhappy that it was the SECOND time Lavida cancelled in less than three months. That seemed excessive. I tried to talk but the caller from Lavida kept talking over me and arguing. I finally said "please cancel my membership" and hung up. I didn't think it was professional for the employee to start to argue with me. read more

I'm from Atlanta and had a great massage at a La Vida location, so when I came to Brighton to visit family, I thought I would try La Vida here. It was yet another awesome experience. The receptionist was a very nice and sweet lady and the owner was very nice as well. The best experience was my deep tissue massage with Vicki. She addressed all my trouble areas and I felt so much better. If I lived in Brighton, I would see Vicki all the time. Great experience, great massage!!! read more

FIRST: I came in to this place with my mother for her birthday present and we enjoyed it very much. the atmosphere is VERY relaxing and they have great masseuses at this establishment- great comfort and great attention to detail with what you need. They give you water and a few minutes to recuperate after and it was a great experience. I had a sore back before I went in and came out feeling great. HOWEVER: I signed up for a membership and cancelled a couple weeks later. I e-mailed and told them I would like to cancel and they told me I had to come in. So I came in and signed the cancellation form. I asked multiple times if there were any fees and if I would be charged ANYTHING and the front desk person told me no, no, I would not be charged anything. A week later my payment date came up and $50 was taken out of my account. No one had told me that my card would be charged one last time if I did not cancel within a month. No one, no one told me that fact- not even when I was signing up and I asked the front desk if I would be charged anything when I cancel. Now, it states this on the cancellation form and the membership information they give you- however they neglected to make sure I knew that when I asked, which is lying by omission. When a customer asks a question- even if it is stated in their paperwork- you tell the customer what they want to know. It's common courtesy and professional to do so. I am very disgusted that they did not verbally make sure I knew and now I have a surprise $50 taken out of my account. LASTLY: I would still recommended this place because their massages are great- I just would not recommend getting a membership unless you really read through the fine print and ask if you do not understand something. read more
