Groupon didn't steer me wrong here! The deal here for a couples massage was too good to pass up. The spa is very clean, smells nice and is quiet. We arrived at our appointment time and were immediately greeted and brought to our room. The couples room has two beds on top of each other, not next to each other like I am used to. Before the massage, I asked for light pressure and to focus on my shoulders. I also was excited to add cupping! My massage therapist definitely saw the note about my shoulders, but not the note about light pressure. I had to tell her a few times to go lighter. She also did some chiropractic moves/cracks I was not prepared for. I asked to skip those after she tried to crack my neck once. I wanted more of a gentle massage, but maybe my therapist was just a little heavy handed. She did check in with me about pressure often which was appreciated, but never really consistently toned back her pressure. I loved the cupping! It felt awesome. It was also nice they offered us tea afterwards. Next time I wouldn't ask them to focus on a specific area to keep it more of a whole body massage. I wish my feet got a little more love! Called at 10:30am and booked an appointment for 12pm. I received text confirmation right away. Lots of parking in the plaza. Nice and organized receptionist. Paid $70 for 1hr body & foot massage. Also got to fill out a body chart for where I want the most attention! Had the option between a masseuse or masseur. My masseuse was friendly and professional. Our masseuses were amazing, my husband and I both got deep tissue massages. The pressure was amazing, they worked out spots I didn't even know that needed help. I honestly had a lovely time at this spa. It's a no frills, simple place to get a great massage. I'm always wary of trying new places. Especially semi affordable ones. But I'm glad I got my fiancé and I a couple message for our anniversary. Their availability is pretty open and easy to work with, the staff is very friendly, and the parking isn't too bad. We got there and were immediately shown the room. We got undressed and ready on the beds. We weren't asked what kind we wanted but we did fill out forms about the pressure desired before going in. I had Melody. She was absolutely wonderful. Small but so strong. She definitely gave me an intense deep tissue massage, which is what I wanted. The massage lasted the whole hour even though it flew by. She kept checking in with me too. My partner liked his as well. Again, no frills. No extras. Saw LAVENDER SPA while driving by and decided on an impromptu massage. There is a large parking lot behind the building. LAVENDER SPA is part of a center. Parking is free. There were a lot of available spots, even right in front of the spa. There was no line to enter. They accept walk ins. Check in at the front. They accept credit cards. I am a big fan of massages, but this one was really, really bad. So much so that I feel inclined to write a review. My masseuse used an ungodly amount of oil, tried to upsell me in the middle of the massage, and did not use her hands but only her elbows for over 90% of the massage. The most affordable and best rated place was lavender spa in Van Nuys. I decided to give it a shot and see how things will go. The ladies were very sweet and kind and they even gave me a water bottle to go after the massage. The lady that did my massage took her time and since it was my first time, she didn't massage too hard to make me feel pain. I honestly think that this was such a good place and I would love to come back. I am very surprised that people haven't rated this place. It's so clean and friendly! We usually don't leave bad reviews, but this experience was upsetting enough that we felt the need to share. We regularly get massages and love the experience, but this was our first time at this place--and we've never experienced anything like it before. From the beginning, it was hard to relax. The staff were speaking loudly in another language, and during the massage, one of them interrupted us to ask how we paid--completely unprofessional and disruptive. The massage itself was disappointing and lasted only about 45-50 minutes instead of the full hour we paid $140 (plus a $30 tip) for. My therapist mostly just rubbed rather than applied real massage techniques. Worst of all, my husband left in pain with what seems like a pinched nerve and has been dealing with discomfort and anxiety ever since. Massage parlors should only hire trained professionals. When done poorly, massages can cause serious harm. Please be cautious when booking here. read more

I made an appt for a lymphatic massage/vichy shower. First of all I was put off by the fact that I was asked to pay prior to receiving service...whether it's a hair salon, nail salon, waxer etc, you are always asked to pay AFTER the service is rendered. Secondly, they don't tell you before hand that if you use a card, there's a $4 fee, which is ridiculous. The massage style was not very lymphatic-it was more swedish & she only massaged the back of me. Then in the shower room, the shower spouts are on the sides of your body instead of over top of your body. There is no real head rest in the shower like on the massage table-they just put a towel down so it is impossible to comfortably relax your head. They don't have decent sized towels to cover a woman's breasts-just 2 wash cloths-so she was constantly having to adjust them so they didn't slip off. I will not be returning to or recommending this place. read more
