Believe it or not we found ourselves in this little corner of the countryside without knowing a thing about the country park just over the road!
Leaving Altrincham on a weekend and just wanting somewhere for a cup of tea was our aim.
Well thankfully the manageress was more than happy to tell us all about the local area. I had a tea cake with jam for a £1 and a cup of tea for little more than that again.
The place was nearly empty but i imagine from the ample car park that in season it's busy enough.
There was a little outside seating area with sofa's and it appears the farm opposite (of which the cafe was the barn) ran pony rides and the like for visitors.
The food was very nice, there was an impressive selection for an off season cafe that felt out of the way. It was clean and welcoming and very cheap.
I see a great many 5 star reviews for the neighboring National Trust site and so for anyone fancying to make a day of it i would say here is your mid afternoon tea. In fact here's your lunch, their full menu looked good as well and the prices remained reasonable.
A little hidden gem we felt and well worth a visit. read more
