Beresford Tea Rooms is situated in the picturesque Derbyshire village of Hartington. Being right in the centre of the village, it seems to be the hub of village life. Not only is there a cafe, but there is also a tiny Post Office and a small shop selling jams, chocolate, ice cream etc.
The cafe is quite small with around six tables of varying sizes. When we visited it was fairly quiet, but I would imagine if a coach load turned up, as they tend to in the Peak District in the summer, the tea rooms would be packed to the rafters! The menu was quite extensive for such a small place. The usual fair like scones, sandwichs, salads, were supplemented with daily specials like filled Derbyshire Oatcakes and omelettes. The staff were friendly and the service was lightning fast, with each dish being either homemade or cooked or prepared fresh. If you're on a trip into the Peak District, this place is well worth a visit for a hearty lunch inbetween walks. read more
