It's in good shape and is interesting without having ridiculous holes. - Two pool tables in fair shape. - Food menu is typical of the breed; vegetarians will struggle. - If you're here to bowl, note that there are more small children at Sun Mountain than at Lava Lanes but they tend to congregate in the arcade area.

The food selection is about what you'd expect, so if you're hungry and you love bits out of the deep fryer, you're good to go. I didn't go into the bar because we were there for my boy, so I'm only speaking to bowling which I feel is the most important part anyway, and it was great. I love the low-tech atmosphere, we're pretty sick of the overpriced, over flashy bowling lanes. When you're out in La Pine and you want to throw a ball at some pins with friends, this place does nicely.

The bumpers have been out of commission for the last decade, and the whole place has a musty odor about it. There isn't any electronic scoring, and they don't have pencils available in order to scribe your name and score on the paper sheets provided. 50% of the arcade games are likely going to eat your quarters, and another 25% will be out of order. But, at the time of this review the dual gun terminator game is firing on all cylinders and still rocks like it did when I was 5 years old. I am giving this place 5 stars aside from all those things because this is small town living. In 15 years my kids and I will laugh about having to repeatedly press the reset button in order to just a good set of pins, or the owner coming out and beating on the wooden planks to set them flat in the lane. We recently went to lava lanes which was SENSORY OVERLOAD and my kids hated it. They couldn't stop saying how much more they loved the La Pine bowling alley - the 5 year old doing so in tears. Undeniably good service - greeted immediately by the sweet person at the counter, then asked if we had any questions. We ordered the Hawaiian, (sans the pineapple) - and - two 8" cheese pizzas. All of which were delicious but the Hawaiian was - knock your socks off, excellent! Note - The crust itself is magic! We've dined at the majority of establishments here in Oakridge/West Fir, and "The Herbin Crust Alley" is going into our rotation when we visit. The Bowling Alley offers casual fun with 8 lanes for bowling, 2 pool tables, and a decent array of arcade games.
