Work started and the crew made good progress quickly, but then things slowed to a crawl. Work took twice as long as promised in the contract. There were days on end that no one showed up to do work. Planning with the painters was disorganized; the trim was never painted. The sub-contractors used for plumbing and flooring were unprofessional and offered sub-par work. The electricians were wonderful - punctual, fast, quality. A. A. Smith claims to offer a year warranty but the owner will not honor it. After a few months, a toilet began leaking which caused damage to the ceiling in the basement. Certified plumber came out and discovered the toilet had been installed (by AA Smith) incorrectly, thus resulting in the leak/damage. A. A. Smith owner refused to cover the cost of having the toilet correctly installed, and refused to cover the damage. We gave the owner every opportunity to make the situation right, however he began ducking calls, voicemails, emails. Owner did a good job making us believe in his thoroughness in the beginning, but the professionalism ended there -he's a salesman. Recommend going elsewhere if you desire honesty and quality.
