History
Established in 1989.
Wasatch Dental opened its doors in 1989 when Dr. Laurence Palmer and his brother, Dr. Robert Clair Palmer, who is also a dentist, bought the existing practice from Dr. Lynn Wade. In 1994, Dr. Laurence Palmer became the sole owner of Wasatch Dental. There are 7 employees total; the office manager, scheduling coordinator, 2 dental assistants, and 3 hygienists, 2 of them who are his wife and daughter that come in for a half day each per week. They are open Tuesdays thru Fridays, and come in on Mondays and Saturdays by appointment if needed. The owner is Laurence R. Palmer.
Meet the Business Owner: Laurence P.
After serving a two year LDS mission to France and Belgium, he attended BYU where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French. He also taught French classes as a student professor during his undergraduate studies.
While attending BYU, he met and married the love of his life Trudy Wynn. Upon graduation, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he attended Creighton University dental school and graduated in 1989. They have lived and practiced dentistry in Ogden ever since dental school. They are the parents of 7 children and 4 grandchildren.
Dr. Palmer and his family travel to Africa on humanitarian expeditions to help patients who have no access to dental care. He also volunteers locally at the Midtown Children's Dental Clinic in Ogden and with the Junior League of Ogden in the Adopt a Patient program. He has served on the executive committee of the Academy of LDS Dentists since 2007 and is currently serving a two-year term as president of the Academy.
