We went to Dr. J after a horrible experience at NW. IVF is a lot mentally and physically, we wanted to make sure we chose the right Physican the second time around. At our consult we knew we had made the right decision immediately. I also work in healthcare, specifically the mental health field and I know how important it is to make someone feel at ease, to treat them as a person and not just a number. This can be extremely difficult especially in any type of speciality. To receive the knowledge along with a good bedside manner. Well Dr. J has it. He is not only a seasoned doctor up to date with all the facts.. but he has the compassion to go along with it. He will personally give you his email. You can email him at any time, you aren't expected to only go through the nurse, he understands the anxiety that goes along with this, on top of us ladies being on medications that magnify the fears as well. Dr. J has been practicing his craft for decades, and his results show his skills. I am not an easy case, not only was I one of his paranoid patients with numerous questions daily BUT my husband has severe MFI, I am possible DOR, I'm young but I never seemed to respond well. Dr. J never wanted to waste our money and was up front about the problem, sure no one wants to hear that they need a sperm donor, BUT no one should have to fail over and over and never get a baby because an office wants money. This wasn't easy for any of us, doctor J, showed us the numerous samples and the failed IVFs here and elsewhere and walked us through the next step. We also received a counseling session, he also let me take my time and even suggested it before another cycle, just as any good doctor should when making a big decision or experiencing a loss. We did have a loss our first donor cycle, and it was tragic, dr. J was there every step of the way. He helped us to not lose hope, he helped me to not rush into another cycle, I dealt with it in a healthy manner and when I was ready we did go back and try again. To ease my anxiety dr. J left me stay until I was 12 weeks, and allowed me to do whatever was needed to help me feel comfortable after the loss. Early in this pregnancy I did have an issue and I remember doctor J arriving to the office, I was in tears, and he told me Do not lose hope and it could be something else or of course worse case scenario. Sure enough he was right, it was something else. In this battle we do often lose hope, it's a painful dark road. I was on that road for almost 5 years. A quick recap of my pregnancy history. I have been pregnant 4 times and all ended in miscarriage before the 8th week. From my very first visit at Fertility Centers of Illinois in Hoffman Estates back in May I was so impressed. The staff was unbelievably friendly and welcoming. When I met Dr. Jacobs, I just knew he would be the doctor to help my husband and get and stay pregnant. He was so detailed in reviewing all of my previous medical history, asking questions and was genuinely empathic to my and my husbands situation. We left the office with a detailed plan and Dr. Jacobs made sure my husband and I had his card and said "please email me if you have any questions." Many doctors say this, but don't mean it, Dr. Jacobs truly meant it. I have never seen a more responsive doctor. For women struggling with infertility, having a responsive doctor is a huge relief. With Dr. Jacobs experience, testing and knowledge we were able to identify the reason for my recurrent miscarriages and put in an structured plan for my next pregnancy. My husband and I decided to do IVF and do a FET and in Sep. we did our first FET with Dr. Jacobs. It was successful and we are now 10 weeks pregnant. This pregnancy has been such a blessing and it would not have been possible without Dr. Jacobs and the entire team at Hoffman and Buffalo Grove. Nurses Cindy, Mary and Helen were all very responsive as well and knowledgable. For ladies that live further from Hoffman Estates or Buffalo Grove, you are able to do your monitoring at any FCI clinic that is convenient for you, which is helpful. If you are looking for a great doctor for infertility, do not look further. You will be beyond thrilled with Dr. Jacobs. His knowledge, genuine care and expertise is unparalleled. Five stars is not enough for Dr. Jacobs and his team who helped make our dream of having a family come true! I have struggled with hormone issues (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome - PCOS) for most of my adult life. I was told at 17 that I would never have children. Every doctor I had seen, prior to Dr. Jacobs, had failed to help me and only succeeded in pouring shame on top of what was already shameful to me. I was ecstatic to learn that Dr. Jacobs is a nationally recognized specialist in the treatment of PCOS. I was even more pleased when I was met with grace and kindness, instead of shame, at our first visit. When my husband and I started trying for a family, I had been so traumatized by unhelpful and unkind doctors that I was scared to go to a specialist, or see anyone new. I am so grateful for Dr. Jacobs' kindness, consideration, and expert knowledge! I have never been more comfortable in a doctor's office. Every person on the staff, from the office team, to lab technicians, and nurses were always supportive and encouraging. Dr. Jacobs was referred to me to me through my coworker after two failed IVF's through a different doctor. My first impression with him was, "this is the doctor I want to be with".
