I won't go into the details, but to summarize, she made me uncomfortable. Now, nearly a year after I had seen them last, they send me a bill for around $250. These services were long paid for through my insurance and the copay, and I was not notified that I owed any more. All payments had previously been resolved. Why are they sending an email stating that I have a balance, and why are they not mailing me a bill or calling to inform me of the balance? I will give them a call soon to figure out the rest, but this is highly unprofessional. It just reinforces my decision to not continue dealing with them. I will update the review based on the outcome of the call. Edit: It took them about a year to submit the bill, and they office representative could not give me a clear and concise answer as to why I owe, despite it being previously covered. She is blaming the insurance, but the insurance had already covered the payment over about a year ago. I am no longer on the insurance that I had last year, so if they tried to charge me again, it may reflect that I owe, but why wait so long to charge? I am waiting for the office manager to call me. This is unethical and a shady practice. They will not be getting anymore money from me. This bill may even have to go into collections. Final Edit as of Dec 2025: Never received a call back or any form of communication (besides another automated email notice to remind me of the bill). Double checked with my prior insurance, and it turns out they submitted their claim very late (as stated previously), but the insurance notes that their contract states they cannot bill the patient as well, since they submitted everything late. So they are breaching their contract with the previous insurance by billing me. Attached is proof of the statement by insurance, "THIS CLAIM WAS NOT RECEIVED ON TIME SO WE CANNOT PAY THE CLAIM. YOUR CONTRACT WITH CIGNA DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO BILL THE PATIENT AFTER THE TIME LIMIT."

She told me she's proud of her 25 year old daughter who "pre-games (gets drunk) in the parking lot" before she goes to raves in LA, uses molly (ecstasy),and is the designated driver for her friends after. She touted her Princeton education and all her educated friends while trying to up-sell me on tons of expensive self help work she offers. I felt like I was being sold a used car! It took the staffer a long time to find someone that could draw my blood.This meant that I sat in a room directly next to a patient room and heard everything private being shared. The patient told the doctor the plethora of anxiety med.s she was taking, how her father had referred her, how worried she was about her health/the safety of other doctors etc. The only thing I came for was surgical clearance/bloodwork and her staff sent me/my provider NEITHER. They literally sent me/my provider the exact same clearance form my provider gave me, zero changes. No bloodwork, no medical review, not even a doctor signature and this was after TWO failed fax attempts and TWO failed email attempts!

Nobody wanted to help, there was this weird stigma about prescribing testosterone either as a gel (Testim) or as an injection. Finally after moving back to Chicagoland I found mens health. I called to find out the hours, they were open that day, they accepted walk-ins and my insurance! I came in, filled out their paperwork, and was seen within a couple minutes of turning in my paperwork. The doctors were very caring and really did understand the frustrations I was having in finding people to take the low t seriously. They drew my blood and explained they would have it tested to see if I qualified for testosterone therapy. The following day I received a call and I came to the office. My levels were 268 and they said that I certainly qualified for treatment and they got started right away by explaining to me the treatment protocols they could offer for low t and the often associated ED. I walked out feeling like I had finally found the place I had been looking for. Since that day I have been back every week since August or September of 2012 when I walked in the first time. Today the office has expanded its services and they now have an in house chiropractor who is just as good as any of the other medical staff at fielding your complaints and addressing them with adjustments and recommendations for stretching or physical therapy you may need. They are two separate appointments and they won't combine them: one is "to establish care" and the other is an illness visit. Once I see her as a "wellness visit" on August 18, I would be able to "get in quicker" to see her in the future. For now, if I'd like to be seen and monitored by "someone else" who has more availability in their schedule I could do that. Well, I've had a terrible experience with a doctor in Chicago that left me with ongoing medical issues that could have been prevented. So I did my research and selected someone I felt I could trust. I was so very lucky to have that in New Orleans (from where I just moved) and I just wanted that again. I don't really want to see "someone else" that I don't know anything about and waiting 6+ weeks to see a doctor I researched heavily. So while I can't really rate Dr. Boyd herself, this is a warning to those who are looking for a doctor: even though her site says she is accepting new patients, I don't think she really has time for them.
