The Good: Nice place, leaning toward four stars, but doesn't quite make the cut. Two play areas with plenty to do for the young and sort-of-young alike. Interesting curling pathway leads from a parking roundabout past the half court basketball space, across a bridge and over the acequia to a nice area devoted chiefly to kids and dog walkers. Bike rack. Bucket and big kid swings, lengthy radius. Picnic table and recreation shelter.
The Bad: Sand. No shade, save the shelter. Not much to the grounds, not really a place for sport. Way close to the highway, so it's noisy. And what's with the "Park Under Surveillance" signage? Under who's surveillance, exactly? By whom, for whom? Why is Big Brother watching? Let me and my kid be, please.
The Verdict: I think I found the surveillance camera, it's streaming from a para-scope on the big kid play structure. Deviously situated, APD. Now you can prove little Johnny is stealing Ho-Ho's from the store and put him away for good. read more
