Also kind of rustic looking too, it was very comfortable It came with a hutch with a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, silverware and coffee/tea, iron and board, tv, dresser, closet with hangers and rugs all over the cement floor. The bed was VERY comfortable. The one akward thing is that you can indeed hear very well through the walls, ceiling and floor, but luckily I knew the people next to us so yeah. Also, I was super excited about their breakfast basket for around $15. I am glad I tried it but I wouldn't get it again, the only thing home made was the quiche, which was delicious but tiny. We came here for a wedding, and it was a lot of fun and the snow just never stopped. You do have to drive to Green Gables which is about 2 mins in the car or 40 mins by foot in the snow. I was surprised to see this place had no vacancies during the winter, I can see why, its just very pretty when there is snow all around. It's still kind of expensive in the off season, but if they can fill it up most of the time then great!

The windows were 100 year our wooden shutters held shut by a rickety hook latch that could easily be pushed in. I would be skeptical about any positive reviews about this place.

Avoid This Place: Absolutely Horrific Service I will…read morenever go there again. We should have realized what kind of night it was going to be the moment we sat down and no one came to the table. Eventually, someone passed by and muttered that our waitress would be over shortly. On a second pass, that same person finally brought us menus, repeating the empty promise that our waitress would be there shortly. On their third pass, they finally asked for our drink order. Finally, after 15 minutes of sitting in limbo, our actual waitress arrived with or drinks and took our order. Then, the agonizing wait began. As we sat waiting for our food, we watched multiple guests walk in after us, get served their meals, pay, and leave. We had to call out for a drink refill because our waitress never once stopped to check on us. Instead, she was too busy wiping the exact same clean table for a bizarrely long time, and then chatting up departing customers. When yet another table who sat down long after us was served their meal, my partner finally approached our waitress and asked, "How long does it typically take for food to be served?" Her response? "I don't know." Brilliant. You'd think that's something an employee who serves the food should know. When my partner asked a follow-up question, the waitress fired back with a completely snotty answer. When they pointed out that she was being incredibly rude, she actually rebutted by claiming he were the one being rude. What?! She then snapped, "Don't get in my face." Wow. That's top-tier customer service, eh? For the record, asking legitimate questions while maintaining a respectful physical distance is not "getting in someone's face." Then, miraculously, after a staggering hour and a half, the food finally came out--and it was served without the rolls we were supposed to get. A Note to the Manager: You seriously need to train your employees to not be defensive, to treat your customers with dignity, and to learn that if an employee is having a bad day, they don't get to take it out on the paying guests. Your desserts look sweet, but you may want to ensure your staff is equally sweet--or at the very least, kind. I will actively tell everyone I know not to frequent your establishment based on this horrible service. Save your time and your money, and go somewhere else.

The bathroom sorely needs an exhaust fan. It was super humid after I took my shower. The refrigerator was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The door locked as it should, which helps me feel secure in the room. Breakfast was also impressive. Sausage gravy, biscuits, pancakes, cereal, muffins, bacon, sausage, eggs, and more. Might even be the highlight of the hotel. The pool and workout room were rather disappointing. The pool was so cold thst we only stayed in for 10 minutes. There were also little black spots floating in it. Not enough to cause concern, but still strange. The workout room was large and had 3 different machines (treadmill, elliptical, and bike) along with freeweights, a bosu ball, and a foam roller. There is a main TV and smaller tvs on each machine. I couldn't get any of them to work so I stopped by the front desk. According to the worker, none of the smaller tvs work, only the main TV. When turned on it says "this device hasn't been registered" meaning none of the work. There are clearly some kinks they need to work out with the pool and exercise room. Once they do, this will be a 5 star place ro stay.

Me'h exterior, pretty much no grass on site. The whole town is a tangle of rear entrances and one way driveways that make it difficult to enter the grounds. Of key note, the entrance of the Penn Turnpike runs in front of the property, has no entrance to the hotel, and you must enter the toll highway and come back from the next exit, 30+ miles away. Lobby seems to be in the middle of reno with lots of construction supplied stored in the open. Breakfast was good, mattress and pillows just average, lost of hot water and AC. Price is high for the location, mixed amenities, and local traffic pattern.

However when we arrived, which was well after the allowed check-in time, we found no one there and also the street, parking area, steps and sidewalk were all covered in 6 or more inches of snow. We phoned her and she was rather rude. She then came to the inn but at that pint we were not able to wait for her to try and clear the snow. We told her we would find lodging elsewhere--she agreed to a full refund but then never gave us refund. She eventually did refund us but not full amount. We should have gotten full refund. It is hotel/lodging responsibility to provide clear/safe passage to their establishments. I would never recommend this property.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made checking in and out a pleasant process. The beds were comfortable, and the room itself was clean, providing a decent spot to rest for the night. I also appreciated the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers in the shower--a nice touch that's more convenient and eco-friendly than the usual tiny bottles, something I wish more hotels would adopt. However, there were a few drawbacks that kept this from being a standout stay. The pool was a bit of a letdown--it had a strange smell, which we also noticed when taking showers, so it might just be the local water. Still, the pool itself looked a little murky and was definitely in need of relining or repainting to freshen it up. On the plus side, they had a hot tub, which is a rare find in hotels these days and a nice bonus for a quick soak. The breakfast was average--nothing amazing, just standard fare like eggs, sausage, and pastries that got the job done but didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, the Comfort Inn & Suites was fine for a quick layover, with a clean room and friendly staff, but the pool's condition and the uninspiring breakfast kept it from being more than a middle-of-the-road experience. It served its purpose for our one-night stop, but we'd probably look for other options if we're passing through Johnstown again.

While we finished up at the funeral home, our guests went to the Ramada. When they arrived, the small ballroom was not appropriately set up for our event. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Our guests had to complete the set up. When it was noted that the size of the room would be to small, we were moved to the larger room. Again, our guests completed set up of chairs and were rudely thrown a stack of tablecloths to place. Our food was catered from an outside vendor who was also treated extremely rudely upon her arrival. We were charged an additional $250 for the larger space even though we were provided little to no assistance from the one staff person working, the room was frigid, and the coffee and water that were to be provided by the Ramada was not provided. We were unable to locate staff when we had questions or needs after the initial contact. My father died unexpectedly and so this was already a very difficult time made worse by the staff and service of the Ramada. When we raised our concerns about the uncharge for the larger space, we received a copy/paste text response from the staff person to the manager which was then forwarded to us. Again, a very rude and disrespectful response. All around, the facility and their staff made an already awful day worse and thencharhed us extra for the trouble.
