Has a very old 70s feeling about it. Old building with really bad heat and drafty windows. Shower sprayed everywhere and the shampoo smelled like flea spray. Overall the price was decent and the bed was comfortable i suggest this place to anyone looking for a cheap place to sleep or if you enjoy places that arn't cookie cut hotels.

My mom talked about this property for years. She lived in Pennsylvania and attended a wedding and…read moreshe was always convinced I'd love it here. I was living in California and every time I'd get back to the east coast, she'd suggest going here. Unfortunately, we never got to experience a visit here together after she suddenly passed from an aggressive cancer. It became my goal to come here and visit with her on my mind. Years later, I moved back to the east coast and booked a random weekend just for fun. I'm married now with kids so we made the drive here to experience all that the Omni had to offer. I've stayed at other Omni resorts and I wavered on what this place would land on ratings wise. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with a lot of history that I loved learning about. My kids absolutely loved the indoor pool. It is as gorgeous as the photos look. It's a nice spot, especially when it's a chilly Pennsylvania day like when we visited. With that said, there isn't a ton to do here with kids. It was the perfect amount of time for us, but met other families who were struggling to keep their own kids occupied. There are some really nice trails around the property, which are perfect. And you can also check out some free toys and games from one of the shops inside. That said, if you don't have great weather, options can be limited. We didn't get a chance to visit the spa, but the space looks amazing from what I saw online. The rooms were spacious and well set up for a family. We ate at a few of the restaurants on site. Service was mostly on point though the tavern was really off. Our server was perfectly friendly but pretty much messed up the entire order. I would go back but not sure I'd be eager to rush back anytime soon. We did enjoy the experience but I think a few bumps could be worked out such as helping with our luggage upon arrival. We were able to valet but couldn't find anyone to help us with the bags and the rolling carts don't easily go over the front door to get inside. Between me and my partner, we were able to make it work. But it's those small details that make a property really stand out.

Afterward, we had lunch at the Frontier Tavern, and everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Every member of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make our visit special. From the spa to lunch, the entire experience was memorable and truly exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, and we can't wait to come back again.

We needed a stop en route back from Chicago and the other local places had reviews including musty smells, centipedes (likely silverfish or other water bugs), overflowing toilets. The other options in middle of nowhere PA were $95-150 hotels. Really? We just wanted a place to sleep, one that wasn't gross because I'm too old for that & as good as my kids' immune systems are, ok, it's just me. Really. I just wanted a clean room that wouldn't give me some unknown air/mold/damp disease. This place is clean. The sheets are new. The bedspreads are new. The beds are firm. The coffee is dark & the shower hot. No funk from shower, floor, heater--yes, I've stayed in thousands of places now that I'm in my 40s, and this place was just awesome for what it was--a motel. Just one without funk. That deserves 4* when you've traveled up and down and across the country and even for $180+ have had funky rooms during dry season. We parked in front. AAA discount. $70/2 beds, $50 for 1. We ate at Ed's Steakhouse down the street because they were open & served wine. Nice staff, filet done rare and charred.
