Below the Union Hotel is a tavern called Mona's which is connected and an addition to The Union Hotel restaurant/12 room hotel. There's parking along the Main Street, as well as lots of spots in the back of the building. You can enter from the main entrance of the hotel and take the elevator down or you can head down the steps in the back to enter. Doesn't matter which way, just get here. We were absolutely blown away by the quality, portions, flavor profiles, and service in this little gem. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a super friendly bartender named Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He was always checking up on us and making sure that we were always good. Service was fabulous. There's a timeline of the history of this historic building on the back of the menu. We ordered two drinks. One was an apple cider margarita and the other was a strawberry gin fizz concoction that was amazing. Both of these drinks were delicious. If we weren't driving and staying in the actual hotel above this tavern, we would have tried several other ones on the menu. Lots of creative choices that looked to be tasty based on the mix of ingredients. For the food - the menu was enticing and extensive. Lots of creative things happening here. The app we decided on was the Parmesan crusted Brussels and boy did they not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. We opted for The French Dip with fries and some magical au jus and a Union Smash burger with fries for our meals. Both are highly recommended!!! The burger was served on this delicious cloud of brioche bun and stacked high with two patties (perfectly cooked), pickles, dijonaose, and cheese. The French Dip had the most magnificent crusty roll and tender meat. Then there are these amazing Parmesan parsley fries that are perfectly cooked and served hot! We could have eaten an entire plate of these. To go boxes were needed. Big portions. We couldn't fit dessert! The bill does come with some tasty Andes mints. Prices here are extremely reasonable! I can't stress enough about how absurd it is that this small town has such a hidden treasure of a place where the food is beyond amazing. This place is a full package. If you live anywhere within an hour or even two, come here!! You won't regret this decision. Scrumptious!!!!

I was living in California and every time I'd get back to the east coast, she'd suggest going here. Unfortunately, we never got to experience a visit here together after she suddenly passed from an aggressive cancer. It became my goal to come here and visit with her on my mind. Years later, I moved back to the east coast and booked a random weekend just for fun. I'm married now with kids so we made the drive here to experience all that the Omni had to offer. I've stayed at other Omni resorts and I wavered on what this place would land on ratings wise. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with a lot of history that I loved learning about. My kids absolutely loved the indoor pool. It is as gorgeous as the photos look. It's a nice spot, especially when it's a chilly Pennsylvania day like when we visited. With that said, there isn't a ton to do here with kids. It was the perfect amount of time for us, but met other families who were struggling to keep their own kids occupied. There are some really nice trails around the property, which are perfect. And you can also check out some free toys and games from one of the shops inside. That said, if you don't have great weather, options can be limited. We didn't get a chance to visit the spa, but the space looks amazing from what I saw online. The rooms were spacious and well set up for a family. We ate at a few of the restaurants on site. Service was mostly on point though the tavern was really off. Our server was perfectly friendly but pretty much messed up the entire order. I would go back but not sure I'd be eager to rush back anytime soon. We did enjoy the experience but I think a few bumps could be worked out such as helping with our luggage upon arrival. We were able to valet but couldn't find anyone to help us with the bags and the rolling carts don't easily go over the front door to get inside. Between me and my partner, we were able to make it work. But it's those small details that make a property really stand out.

Afterward, we had lunch at the Frontier Tavern, and everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Every member of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make our visit special. From the spa to lunch, the entire experience was memorable and truly exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, and we can't wait to come back again.

The bathroom walls were splattered with a... brown substance. There was clearly a leak because the ceiling and walls were stained and peeling. And perhaps most disgusting of all, the towels had large brown and yellow stains on them. Conversely, the room my sister-in-law had next to ours was a little outdated, but fine. Still, do not recommend.

Stay with me and allow me to explain further: I've been coming to this area for road trips since before I was 7 years old. The Pennsylvania turnpike has been the halfway point for my family to rendezvous and exchange kids for summer vacation, for years, years! Now, the entire area seems to be crumbling into a state of disrepair, including this once sweet hotel. I remember swimming in the pool with my grandmother after a long day in the car and was really looking forward to doing the same with my own daughter after just having just visited her great grandmother. The pool was locked with a padlock. It looked clean and ready to use, but it clearly wasn't open. The rooms themselves... there were so many confusing aspects for the price we paid. I don't get the half-attempt to make them look 'nice' when so many little details were clearly overlooked. Upon first walking in, you are hit with the scent of carpet cleaner, which explained why the floors felt damp. Normally I might not complain about a clean floor, but it was still wet. It appeared that there may have been some water damage or ongoing issues, unless the place was just kept like that in general, I'm not sure, but several rooms had towels stuffed outside their doors. Everything was dusty. Not just a little, but a nice layer or two of dust. One of the plug sockets had a broken plug still in it, the remote for the TV did not work. The TV itself was practically unwatchable. It seems as though they did their best to 'cover up insecurities' so to speak, but it resulted in looking like they could care less about the quality of their establishment or the people who reside there. Despite being underwhelmed by the state of the place, the best part of our entire stay, was the breakfast. It's the first time, in a long time, I've seen waffles back out, fresh fruit, sausage, eggs and more goodies. Our kids loved it. To the ladies working the front counter, my partner said you were all gems. Absolutely wonderful to speak to and to set us all up for the night! Thank you, thank you. All that being said, thanks for the good memories you gave me, I would never stay here again and I will never recommend it to anyone in this condition.

We told her we would find lodging elsewhere--she agreed to a full refund but then never gave us refund. She eventually did refund us but not full amount. We should have gotten full refund. It is hotel/lodging responsibility to provide clear/safe passage to their establishments. I would never recommend this property.
