The Only thing delicious at this restaurant was the chips and salsas ,other than that ,the refried beans tasted spoiled ,the rice was not good ,was very bland ,the queso they used was an imitation of velveeta ,not very good ,the puff was very greasy ,when opened the grease came out ..the price for the meal was expensive and not good ..won't be back

Always enjoy the food and service at Laura's Plates are nice sized and cooked to order and delivered hot and fresh. Chips and salsa will never run out while you wait on your order.

All the breakfast tacos are awesome. The salsas are great as well. Good kick and flavor, and I'm not a spicy enthusiast. Fajita and egg taco good.

Cleanliness of the restaurant is seriously lacking as is the waitstaff. They act like they don't want you there. My wife found a spider, yes a daddy long legs spider in her enchilada. We will never set foot back in this place.

I heard that Laura was a sort of local Mexican cuisine legend to no dismay. Service was fantastic - chips & salsa came quick and the margaritas were fantastic. Her fajita special was fantastic and a real steal for $10. Definitely going to add this one to the rotation when I'm in El Campo.

So you're on the highway and it's how much further to Houston and all the eateries you can choose from there but your stomach just can't wait....what can you do? You pull out your phone and go to your trusty Yelp app; and behold a rare gem of a little restaurant is dropped in your lap. The exterior- questionable. The sign has a former tenants info bleeding through and those infamous year round Christmas lights. The interior- even more questionable. The shell of Dairy Queen screaming at you with a paint stir stick holding the table level and a 3 foot picture of the Virgin Mary taking it's place alongside the 32" TV mounted haphazardly on the wall. BUT THE FOOD.....OH THE DELICIOUSNESS!!! This place serves up a party in your mouth. The salsa (green served cold, red served warmed) are great. The queso came next, and our anticipation mounted. Then with subtle glory our food was laid before us. The Christmas lights vanished from memory, and this shell of a Dairy Queen became an amazing little Mexican restaurant somewhere in the Western Caribbean. The fajitas were perfect and so tender you could cut them with a fork. The tortillas freshly made; soft and warm. The guacamole and pico were divine, and the rice with it's weird little pieces of peas and carrots was surprisingly tasty. My love had chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce, and couldn't have loved them more.(he's clearly a man of fewer words than me) All I can say is Thank You Yelp!!!

Very very good food, fajitas were tender and so delish, fried avocado stuffed with fajita meat was out of this world. This place looks like a whole in the wall, we were told it was made from an old Dairy Queen. But don't let this fool you...The salsa red and green where super good, with thin chips, I just love when they Serve thin chips. The cheese enchilada was just great, I had caso cheese added on top. This enchilada reminded me of authentic ones, like I remember when we use to eat at the papasitas Mexican restaurant in Houston, Texas . Go here and give it a try you won't be sorry.... I also wanted a tamale But disappointed they where out, Next trip......

Excellent food and service! Three different people with differing tastes (steak, seafood, and quesadillas) all happy with their orders!

O heck no. Roaches on the Booths. Mice running above our heads above the ceiling tiles. ElCampo Health Dept gave them a A+ rating.

Simply the best Mexican food in El Campo! The tortilla soup, hot sauce, green sauce and chicken fajitas are my favorite.

Not much from the outside but the food and sweet tea were great! One of the best cup of charro beans I've had anywhere.
