The stylist that I worked with was patient and easy to talk to. She was understanding and sweet when I voiced my concerns about finding a dress for my body type, and I never felt pressured to make a purchase. The selection of dresses was great. I didn't see many dresses that looked overly traditional or boring, which were things I wanted to avoid. Their dresses are bohemian but also elegant and beautiful. No greeting, no interest in me as a customer whatsoever. I wasn't alone. Another woman about my age had to chase down a sales person to help her find a sweater in the color she wanted. We looked at each other as what appeared to be the manager fawned over one woman trying on dresses for a wedding, and the other devoted her attention to their "favorite customer" who had come in after we had. I finally said to the other ignored customer, "I must look like I'm not here to buy clothing." I was looking forward to getting some help putting together a wardrobe, and trying things on after a year of online shopping. It's not that hard to get Halston. Liebling is my favorite clothing shop in Burlington. I don't have many pieces from the shop…read morebecause the clothing isn't exactly Vermont-esque and it can be expensive. That being said, if I were still living in a city, I would dress from head to toe in Liebling-style garb. Vermonter Kara Alnasrawi opened Liebling a few years ago. Kara is an ex investment banker who met her husband in Germany (thus the name of the shop). She saw a gap in women's fashion offerings in Burlington and decided to open a clothing shop with items she would wear. I'm so glad she did, because I share her taste in fashion. The brands Liebling carries have clean, simple lines, are made of high-end materials and indeed offer "casual luxury" like it states on the store's website. Sweaters are cashmere, denim is Japanese, shirts are made of silk or fine brushed cotton. The cut of the clothing is flattering but understated. I'm a big fan. Still, in a state where 90% of the inhabitants shop at TJ Maxx and similar bargain stores, I wonder how this shop stays afloat. Regardless, I'm so glad it's here to remind me of other places and lifestyles. Designers include Helmut Lang, Rag & Bone, ALC, Raquel Allegra, Mother Denim, NSF, Goldsign, Inhabit, etc. And the store is now carrying Isabel Borland Jewelry. I went to college with Isabel and I love her aesthetic!!!! I'm so pleased Liebling is carrying her. Her jewelry complements the clothing perfectly. The few other women's shops in town that compare to Lieblling are Monelle (Nantucket-style clothing, lots of whites and navies, stripes, nautical cuts, cotton, linens, and some fancy dresses. Casual elegance); Whim (a bit more trendy, less classic than Monelle, less luxurious than Liebling. More in lines with Ecco); Ecco (trendy mid-range brands) and Jess Boutique (hard to describe, more flowy and mature with prints, not my bag but a lot of people love this shop). The only men's shop that is comparable in the Burlington area is Michael Kehoe. Burlington isn't exactly the fashion capital of the northeast. ;)

I got home and realized it was tagged a M/L but the actual clothing tag was S/M. ( Italian Made and not visible unless you looked on the lower side of garment) Thought it was tight for a M/L ! I did exchange it without a problem and I found a few other things that came home with me. Overall I like the different items they offer that are unique and not " mall basics" . I will come back again !! (Only took off a star because I had to come back to get the correct size.)

I wanted to make sure what I wore was appropriate for the multiple events I would be attending. The owner Samir was very helpful in explaining the different outfits and helping me chose a sari, top and bangles. He suggested I come back the next day so their tailor could help me learn to wear the sari and stitch pleats in it so it would be easy for me to wear. I didn't even know they had a tailor--impressive! She can alter outfits for you and also make the tops to wear under a sari. When I came back the next day, the tailor was sick, but he still pinned it together for me and explained where to sew and hem the outfit. I could have left it with them, but my flight was the next day so I sewed it at home using his suggestions. I came back for a third time to buy a shawl for a bright yellow evening gown for a different event because he had the best selection in the mall of brightly colored wraps and accessories. The store is a beautiful place to walk around and full of thoughtful items. It's a great place to pick up gifts for yourself and others! I bought a 1990 Harley Davidson Low Rider in March of 1990. In 1991 I walked into your store to buy…read morea good riding leather jacket. You did not have one in my size on the rack. I was told you could have one available in about a week. Your store took my measurements and contacted me when it was ready. Thirty-five years later I still own and ride the same motorcycle. Thirty-four years later I still wear the same leather jacket I bought from Champlain Leather in 1991! I have put over 110,000 miles on the motorcycle crisscrossing the country wearing that jacket. The leather has held up against the elements. The liner is still in perfect condition. The only thing that did not last was the zipper pull. I am not surprised to see you're still in business with the quality of your products. I live in Arizona now, so it is a little difficult to stop in and shop. Thank you for a quality jacket and the memories that come with it.
