I've been taking items here for years. They do a great job are reasonably priced and fast. They'll even do quick fixes while you wait.

Service is terrible. I called and whoever picks up and answers is rude and does not even say "bye" but hangs up. I would never go back.

Might be okay to hem a simple pant hem, if you're lucky! I had taken in a Lululemon top to get the sleeves shortened. One sleeve was longer than the other, way too short and very sloppy work. I ended up donating the item. I also included a picture of what it looked like before they "hemmed" the sleeves. read more

You are required to pay before the alterations are done, the shop is total chaos. Poor customer service and expensive!

Brought in a prom dress to be hemmed, the woman was very unprofessional and had me try on the dress in a storage closet. The dress was quite expensive and they failed to cut a straight line, instead one portion of the dress was longer than the rest. Very disappointing read more

6 pm Firday night, I bought a new pair of jeans that I needed to wear tonight. They were perfect except they were about 5" too long. I walked into Lauras and explained my delemma. She dropped what she was doing, mesured me up and said she would have them ready for me in 15 min. True to her word, they were ready in 15 min. The hems look great, pants look great. SO RUDE!!!! I called Laura's Alterations and the women on the phone was awful to me. I was nice and polite, and she made me feel very stupid of asking the questions that I did. She ended up hanging up on me after I said I was going to bring my pants in to have her look at them, she said "k" then click she hung up. I will NEVER go there or recommend them to anyone. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I had her shorten the straps of a dress for my daughters tolo dance. While putting the dress on the night if the dance one of the straps where she altered it came right off. Obviously she carelessly places a stitch or 2 which did nothing. I found some black thread and restitched it as well as reinforcing the other one. The next day I went in with pictures and asked for my money back. The gal that was working at that time wasn't sure what to do but did give me half my money back. read more

I have used Laura's for 3 different alterations and have been very pleased all three times. The first item they repaired for me was a snag on an intricate black cardigan. The tailor warned me that a repair seam would be visible but I took my chances and had her repair it. It came out great! The repair seam is barely visible within the intricate designs of the cardigan. The second item I took was a pair of jeans that needed the waist taken in. Again, great results. And then just yesterday I took in my teenage daughter's favorite jeans that had a broken snap. The tailor replaced the snap while I waited, and for a reasonable price. Since the shop is located inside Bellis Fair mall, they can often work on something for you while you shop. It's very convenient! read more

I took a jacket in to have the sleeves shortened and the lady that took my measurement was really nice and very helpful and told me to pick up the jacket on Thursday. I didn't make it Thursday but came in Friday afternoon and found a different women working the store. I handed her my ticket and she retrieved my jacket with a hint of annoyance. As I paid she became quite rude for No apparent reason, when I smiled and said thank you and told her to have a nice day she scowled, looked at me and in a rude and in an annoyed tone said ok goodbye like I had done something wrong and totally inconvenienced her. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have been going to Laura's for 6 years now and have never had anything but great service, until now. I took two pairs of pants in 2+ weeks ago to be hemmed. A week later I went in to pick up and they were not done. I was told to come back in 15 minutes, I went back 3 times over the course of an hour plus and once finally done they were done wrong. There were two hems: one yellow like the originaI and one two inches above. The employee proceeded to argue with me that it was correct. I asked for the manager and could only get a phone number. I spoke to the manager immediately and she seemed willing to fix the issue but not until the day before Thanksgiving. Went in a 3rd time and the owner argued with me that that is how they do it. Again not what I wanted... She offered to fix it but not until after the holiday. Was supposed to be done on Saturday and received a call they wouldn't be done on time again. Picked them up today and it is finally done but the work is horrible. The seam is crooked and while taking out the second seam the fabric was snagged a bunch. Horrible customer service and horrible job... Will never go back. Thank god it was jeans and not something important like my wedding dress. read more

I was a regular customer at Laura's Alterations until now. In December 2016, I took in 7 items to be mended. No alterations, just mended. Putting a patch on a pair of jeans was $20 per pair, and my bill was over $100. If the work was good, no complaints whatsoever. However, most of the pieces we got back look like crap. A Lucky Brand pair of men's jeans now has off-color, mismatched thread zig-zagged repeatedly with a sewing machine all down both legs. We had this done on a previous pair about a year prior, and the work was great. On a sweater hole we paid to have mended, when I picked it up I was told it was finished, but in reality it had not even been touched. Furthermore, I agreed to waiting a week for the items to be completed. When I went back 2 weeks later, they had managed to lose 1 of the 3 pair of jeans. However, I saw it hanging on a hanger & said, "those are our jeans hanging there!" Lucky Brand, men's 34/34. They had put another client's order tag on my husband's jeans & refused to give them to me. It took about 2 months to get our order right. I'm not sure if there's a change in ownership or management but we will not be returning ever. The order ticket alone was barely legible and no wonder our order wasn't right - no one could read it! Disappointed is an understatement. I tried to get a refund for the sweater that was not finished but told it was finished, and they told me they never give refunds. Upon pressing the question, they offered to charge me $35 for the $15 refund. Cray-cray. read more
